Quote:lucks hype was warranted because he was an elite prospect. if teddy is an elite prospect like luck, he would be hyped as such no ifs or buts. qb is the most important position in football.since when was a QB hyped that much that didn't come from a major football conference? the only obvious advantage other than level of competition that Luck has over Teddy is size, both seem to move well in the pocket and go through their progessions We show less advertisements to registered users. Luck was superior on almost every level.
He is about 30 pounds bigger. Has a stronger arm. He is a better athlete. He played against better competition. He twice finished second in Heisman balloting. Bridgewater is a nice prospect. So was Sam Bradford.
Quote:Luck was superior on almost every level. Did you intentionally leave "More accurate" out of there? If so, good call.
Quote:did you watch the first half of the season? we were being thought of as possibly the worst team ever giving up 34 or more points 5 of the 8 games Ellington is a change of pace back that they don't trust can hold up with a full workload. As for the other....I've covered that ad nauseum. I never bought into the "worst team of all time crap". They played a tough schedule in the first half and got beat badly because of it. They are indeed a bad team, but not "worst of all time" level. Never were. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:since when was a QB hyped that much that didn't come from a major football conference?look teddy is a good prospect, best in this class, but hes no manning or luck. its just really annoying tmd keeps pushing that agenda.
Quote:look teddy is a good prospect, best in this class, but hes no manning or luck. its just really annoying tmd keeps pushing that agenda. He just bought the hype hard. He's now so attached to Bridgewater and afraid to act like anybody else is an acceptable option. I agree Bridgewater is a good prospect. But he isn't some end-all-be-all must have prospect.
Quote:if someone is as good of a prospect as manning or luck there should be nationwide hype. period. there isnt so stop putting teddy in that class. Did I miss the moment when Luck earned the right to be mentioned in the same sentence with Manning? When did this all happen? Was I in a coma?
Quote: Except that claim about Bridgewater having a Peyton Manning career was never posted. Small detail omission, I know... We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Did I miss the moment when Luck earned the right to be mentioned in the same sentence with Manning? When did this all happen? Was I in a coma?in 2012 during the draft process as a prospect. and if you think luck wasnt even close to manning, imagine people pushing teddy in that class.
Quote:Did I miss the moment when Luck earned the right to be mentioned in the same sentence with Manning? When did this all happen? Was I in a coma? Manning is probably the best quarterback prospect in history. The surest thing at that position. He was basically the perfect prospect. Luck was probably the closest thing but still not in the same zip code. Manning >>> Luck >>> Everybody else the last 30 years (including Bridgewater)
Ohio. (no, not Ohio state.)
Eastern Kentucky Kentucky Florida International Temple Rutgers UCF South Florida Connecticut Houston Memphis Cincinnati. That is what TB plays against. So please stop this hogwash that we know for a fact he "WILL BE" in the words of TMD, a franchise NFL QB who will have a career the likes of Peyton Manning. It's a ludicrous statement. He might be good, but he hasn't played against competetion in college, and hasn't taken an NFL Snap. So stop the Peyton Manning comparisons, it's a ridiculous statement. Manning not only played in a tough conference in college, he had a prototypical build and arm, and he had the great fortune to never be seriously hurt until late. Then put up insane numbers in the NFL. That defines an NFL franchise QB.career. Draft the kid if he is still there when we pick, make TMD quiver in excitement, but laying down and losing the fan base for the mere hope he might be a great one is pathetic. Quote:Except that claim about Bridgewater having a Peyton Manning career was never posted. When you link him to Manning, Aikman, and Luck, what are you trying to portray? I'll wait for the inevitable Angry Chihuahua Two Step. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

All the Teddy Bridgewater hype happened during the 2013 football offseason. Once the college football season started and people started paying closer attention to him, little-by-little we realized that he may not be exactly the second coming of Peyton Manning. He's still very good, but the question is whether we can put enough faith in our FO to do their homework and make the right decision on which guy to pick in this QB-heavy draft class.
Quote:When you link him to Manning, Aikman, and Luck, what are you trying to portray? Translation: After Manning and Luck, he believes that Bridgewater is the best QB prospect to come out since 1998. Putting him above the likes of the other 1st round prospects taken in that time period. As prospects, and not their actual careers.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
Quote:Maybe I am in the minority, but I don't get the Bridgewater at all costs mentality. I doubt that he would even be considered the consensus number one player by so many on this board if he had not entered the season in that role. I don't see a sure-thing QB when I watch him play. He did not play that well the other day against Memphis. Even his good games have been sort of meh to me.You are not in the minority. These tanking idiots just have loud mouths. Winning is always good. Losing for a better lottery ticket is never a good idea ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Luck was superior on almost every level. So was Tim Tebow, So was Tim Couch, So was Jamarcus Russel, etc. I put a list in this post of the top 10 Qb's currently in the NFL. 30% of them were number 1 picks. That tells you that these so called draft guru's and couch GM's are not as smart as they think they are ![]()
Quote:Translation: Didn't he also once say Gabbert/Blackmon was going to be the next Aikman/Irvin? |
