Quote:What the hell is wrong about being open-minded. This is an ongoing process. I look at lots of draft boards and they change all of the time. Their stocks may vary till after the combine. What annoys me are people who are so closed minded that Teddy is the best thing since Manning.

"Open-minded" =/= lobbying for a different QB every few weeks, sorry.

uhhh thats because im not sure who will be there in the top of the second after we pick clowney. bortles/manziel/mettenberger/carr would all be good picks in that slot.  real talk, do you hate me bro?

So what? Who the hell cares? Take a chill pill. If you get annoyed over something like this......I'd hate to see you react to something serious. Take it down a notch. We all want the best for our team.

Quote:The others took a "step back" in what? Heisman rankings? Yes. Draft boards? Not really. NFL scouts aren't nearly as naive and reactionary as you; they need to see a trend form over several weeks to really shake things up and won't flip out over one bad Saturday.

This is an example of the horrible "horse race" election coverage that has plagued modern politics and has been adapted by the likes of Kiper/McShay for draft buildup. You'll be back on the Manziel bandwagon when he tears up Mizzou next weekend.
His trend has been forming for a few weeks now!

Watching Carr vs New Mexico right now. Wow this kid is impressive, id like to see a game where hes under a mores consistent pass rush though.

Ive only watched this game and seen him on TV a couple times, but the talent jumps off the tape.

Ok just finished watching him vs New Mexico, Nevada, and Wyoming.

It made me feel a lot better about what would happen if we miss out on Teddy. This guy can be a possible top 5 pick, and is better than Mariota/Manziel IMO.

A lot of the people on this board will be afraid of him because on the macro level he could be described as a Blaine Gabbert of sorts. Big arm, ideal size, false stereotypes of him being like his brother in the pocket, ect ect.

He has easily the best deep ball accuracy in the class, watch the New Mexico game to see that on display as he hits like 7 perfect bombs without missing. He will measure to have the same size and speed as Blaine, but Carr can actually use his athleticism and it shows up. Hes very decisive when to run and can extend the play a bit too. He doesnt have the pocket presence of Teddy, but hes not a sitting duck like Blaine/Chad.

What he lacks in anticipation he makes up for with elite arm strength. His arm is on the level of any top guy in the league. His offense is pretty gimmicky but he does what is asked of him well. The big issue with him is he is hesitant to go through his progressions. He forces some throws to his first read at times, similar to Mariota.

Keep in mind this is only from seeing 4 games, but i liked what I saw. All in all I would not be mad if we took him in the top 5 over the likes of Clowney and Barr. If you wait till the 2nd round or later you get the scraps, and will be hitching your wagon to a guy who historically has <20% chance of panning out.

Man, you weren't kidding when you mentioned his deep ball accuracy. I'm definitely intrigued by Carr in the few videos I quickly watched. Gonna have to watch him more in depth.

Yep, he definitely has the talent. Tell me if you find any games where he was under a good amount of pressure. He has some decent pocket movement from what Ive seen but not elite like Teddy/Luck.

No there aren't. Manziel and Mettenberger are fringe franchise QB prospects at best...and Murray and McCarron are okay backup QB prospects.
