The Giant Fire Gus & Dave Thread (MERGED)

Quote:Poz is very good with run defense but awful with pass coverage. He is usually unaware of where the receiver is. It happened over and over and no changes were installed to fit his talent. It must be coaching. All they need to do is to throw in the middle where Poz is, they will more likely to get a first down.

Then Poz should not fall back into pass coverage. He is just to slow for that.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

Quote:Why would you want Shad to make a decision without having all of the information?  There are 4 more games to play.  Would you also like games to end after 3 quarters?
4 more games to play, 4 more losses.

Colts - Lost to them once with Hasselbeck starting. Hasselbeck will beat us again

Falcons - You know Matt Ryan and Julio Jones will carve up our defense

Saints - Brees will destroy our defense

Houston - 6 sacks of Bortles and some DeAndre Hopkins touchdowns later and we lose another close game

Final record - 4-12

Quote:Gus didn't hike that bad snap. Gus didn't do dumb offsides, enroachment, pass interference. This team still needs more talented players.
You are not going to find anyone denying that the team needs more talents. But the talent level is much better than the prior years yet the results are the same. It is on coaching.

No... We have a very young team who is almost their. We will have our first round pick Fowler with us along with another high draft pick for next year. However we need another defense coordinator. The offense is finally clicking and looking good. One more year...

Wow. Twigg is lighting up Bradley and the coaches right now on the radio.

I appreciate him for his candor each week. He calls it like his sees it. Gives paise where due, and is honest about that bad things going on out there. I really think most of 1010xl is pretty balanced in their coverage, with the exception of the bafoon that is Boselli. At least he tries to sell his bs tho. Lags is the biggest fence straddler I've ever seen/heard. Never has a definitive opinion on anything

What more information does he need?

I understand your point. I'm not suggesting we forfeit after being down 20 to start the fourth quarter.

When you're up 20 to start the fourth quarter you make a decision to start running out the clock. Running out the clock is low risk rather than high risk passing.

You know what you have and you make a decision to move forward. If Khan doesn't know what he has in Gus/Babich after 2.75 years then the franchise is in trouble.

Yes the team is improving and moving towards relevancy. The coaching is a major issue and we need a huge upgrade. Gus is one of the worst head coaches in NFL history. That's not debatable, his win loss record generously cements that argument.

He's actually worse than his W-L record.

Shad's a good owner financially, but doesn't know jack about football.

Quote:But we still lost. Offense has pretty much been good all year and still losing.

So things would be better if the offense was worse?

If for some reason Gus stays, no way in heck does Babich stay, this defense is a train wreck even with a lot of money spent on it via free agency. I personally would like Gus gone but keep Olsen as the OC if possible, but if Gus somehow stays No way in HELL  DOES BABICH STAY.

Funny how people were ready to throw Olsen under the bus not too long ago. Jag fans, the epitome of short attention spans.

Babich needs to go. The only reason he got the job was because he gave opportunity to Gus in NDSU.  He does not have a much bigger resume. If Babich has the 85 Bears defense players, he would have made it the middle of the pack.  His scheme is full of flaws that a good Offensive coordinate will take advantage of.

Babich has always been a bad defensive coordinator. Look at his three years as defensive coordinator of the Bears.

2006(the year before Babich became DC. Ron Rivera was the DC): 255 points allowed(15.9/game) 3rd in the NFL

2007(first year Babich is DC): 348 points allowed(21.8/game) 16th in the NFL

2008(second year Babich is DC): 350 points allowed(21.9/game) 16th in the NFL

2009(third year Babich is DC): 375 points allowed(23.4/game) 21st in the NFL

2010(Babich is demoted to linebackers coach): 286 points allowed(17.9/game) 4th in the NFL

At a minimum, I have to believe Babich is going to be let go this after the season. I have a feeling they'll elevate Wash to DC considering his pseudo promotion to run game coordinator this past offseason and just how effective our run defense has been.

Babich should be let go of on Monday. Take a look in house at a replacement and reassess at the end of the season.

Fans expect results and the fans of this team were in a decade long drought of results.. FINALLY, the offense has come to life this season.. We're getting results..

Defensivly, we let one of the worst teams in the NFL almost drop a 50 burger on us and opposing offenses have taken advantage of this defense all season long.. There's no current hope for this defense under Babich or Gus.. The talent is there but none of them are being coached up..

I don't understand why Gus gets a pass and Babich gets the blame?

Gus did make an OK move to fire Fisch last year and bring in Olson.

Why does he now get the blame for keeping Babich?  He is the head coach after all and those decisions are his to make.

Send them both packing IMO.

I was one of those ones ready for Olsen to 'hit the bricks'. Fortunately, he must have heeded our advise and dumped the stupid 'four running plays in a row up the middle' play book and used a bit more imagination to get the ball in the end zone. I especially like the 'quick hitter' to Green for a touchdown. I'm not anxious to throw anyone 'under the bus' if they'll just use their head and call smart plays that use the resources we have rather than stick stubbornly to plays that simply don't.

I don't know if I'm the 'epitome' of anything, but I thank you anyway.
