The point is something is missing and not even the best of offense will make up for it.

Quote:I don't understand why Gus gets a pass and Babich gets the blame?

Gus did make an OK move to fire Fisch last year and bring in Olson.

Why does he now get the blame for keeping Babich? He is the head coach after all and those decisions are his to make.

Send them both packing IMO.

Management has shown they won't make a move on Bradley. The players still trust him. The owner still has confidence.

Realistically the only thing that won't backfire mid season is firing Babich. It's a move that will happen, might as well do it now and see what someone else on the staff could do.

Most of our D is terrible, and they are being coached by a couple of clowns.

How do you put up 39 points on the road vs a Titans team that has only 2 wins this year, and a rookie QB being coached by Mularkey?

Gus got out coached simple as that, tired of the excuses for him!

Once our Def decides to be good we will be doing well.

It is pretty obvious. We have no pass rush and no way to fix it this year. We have good linebackers, db's that we can build around, decent safeties, but terrible pass rush. The pass rush impacts all the other positions. On offense, we need better oline. Otherwise I'm pretty stoked about what we have there. We are close. Replace Gus, fine, but please keep Greg Olson.

I think the talent level on this team is becoming good enough to where big named coaches may not turn their head to Jacksonville anymore.

There are two plays that won the game. We blitzed Mariotta and almost sacked him, but turned into 80+ hard run. Then we hiked ball 4 yards over Blake's head which turned into easy td. Those aren't on Gus. Maybe you can find other plays that are, but those two plays are why we lost.

Quote:If for some reason Gus stays, no way in heck does Babich stay, this defense is a train wreck even with a lot of money spent on it via free agency. I personally would like Gus gone but keep Olsen as the OC if possible, but if Gus somehow stays No way in HELL  DOES BABICH STAY.

For three years the team is the worst against the pass with his corners & safeties having the leagues worst PDs & INTs every year (despite House having really good year along with Ball in Gus/Babich's first year)...

still this defense & overall the team is mainly designed to stop the run yet Mariota runs for 87 yards in the 4th qtr for a touchdown.. sad.. they cant do anything right on Defense both should be fired.

Sennderick would've helped. Along with a healthy James Sample at FS.

Exactly. And I can only hope that we rest on out laurels and assume he will come back next year and alone solve all of our problems.

Meh.

No one knows how good Sample is going to be. He could be Cyprien in coverage.....

I've seen defenses with less than or equal talent around the league do better.

I hate it when you bring logic to our lynch mob...

Though I think it can be argued the lack of situational awareness & hustle on the 80 yard run along with  a lack of repetitive practice on the miss-snap resulted in the 2 plays you mentioned, it's not like anyone can 100% refute your point.  And it could be argued that I am trying to hard to pin those 2 plays on the coaching.

+1 to you.

eh...  what are you gonna do.  We just stink on ice.

And people wonder why we don't blitz more.

I think we could have anyone as DC and the D will stink. We can't rush the passer and our DBs are below par. It's a terrible combination.
