Good for him and a great speech, he's a really good dude. Well deserved.

Well that's two Heisman winners from the Jacksonville area in the past decade.
Sure would look good in teal on 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th and goal.

Congrats to Mr. Henry. His speech was a little long, but a very good message.

Quote:Do people really pay any attention to the Heisman any more? Not really, but it's still good for a local boy winning it.

Quote:Do people really pay any attention to the Heisman any more?Na I mean its cool for college players and everything but as far as it goes for the NFL its almost a non-factor.
VERY well deserved!
While we're congratulating him for what is a VERY rare college career, let's not forget so many schools wanted to force him to play linebacker. Kudos to Alabama and Saban (who aren't my favorites, but gained mucho points in my book) for letting him play what's so natural for him, despite the temptation to try to turn him into something else. He's a rare talent. You just let him play and flourish. Barring injury, a sure NFL star. As rare as Walker or Jackson, IMO.

Don't need to be as talented as Bo to put up better numbers than he did in the NFL...
Quote:He'll be a bum in the L That's what a lot of people said about him in college too. Quote:That's what a lot of people said about him in college too.not exactly. They said that he'd have a better future defensively. In other words, as he would translate to the league. He's going to be a stiff in the L. Too big. Not enough lateral quickness. Should have played defense We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:not exactly. They said that he'd have a better future defensively. In other words, as he would translate to the league. That's not true at all. People said the exact same thing about him playing running back. He runs too straight up and down, he can't move laterally enough, he's not fast enough...and he proved every single one of them wrong. All those coaches that wanted him to play defensive end or linebacker would have given their left arm to have him as a running back at their school after they saw how he played. |
