Davon House on pace to set franchise record

Quote:Davon House could set Jaguars' record

Davon House | JAC

(December 12, 2015 9:34 AM EST)

Davon House is third in the league with 18 passes defended this season.

House is on pace to break Rashean Mathis' team record of 21. Ridiculously benched for getting torched by DeAndre Hopkins, who may be the best receiver in the league, House has excelled while playing almost every snap the last five games.

This guy is our best CB. Sorry Colvin. Get some pass rush help and a competent center fielding FS next year (and get Gratz off the field once and for all) and we could see some major progress made in our secondary.

If DeAndre Hopkins is one of the best WRs in the league it is not "ridiculous" that Davon House got torched. Hopkins simply was too fast for House to catch up with him. Also, anyone who thinks he is the best WR right now does not watch enough football.

House was a great pickup in free agency, but he falls short of Rashean Mathis is a key area: interceptions. I am still waiting for the next Mathis to come by until our cornerbacks start catching footballs.

Does he get thrown at the most?

If not this is awesome.

It was ridiculous that House got benched because Gus made him the scapecoat after giving up 2 plays late in the game. That is the intent of the author of the original blurb about House. Hopkins is a top WR and he's torched many corners this season.

The author said it was ridiculous that house got benched.

Hopkins makes a strong case to be the best WR in the nfl. He's top 5 in every receiver stat category with ok qb play. It doesn't mean he is the best, but there's an argument to be made.

House can be quite good if he played more consistent week to week. Too many off games.

Hopkins is easily one of the best WRs in the game and its crazy to think what he would do with a better QB.

Congrats to House for playing so well, ive enjoyed his signing thus far.

Gus doesn't know DB talent. He likes big long physical guys and that's all he sees. No one in their sane head would start Gratz over House. EVER.

That is what I noticed too - inconsistency. House has a good game followed by a bad one.

I wish Hopkins played in a different division. He is probably Houston's best player not named J.J. Watt.

Keep in mind that with the Jaguars lack of a pass rush, the CBs are asked to do much more. Colvin and House would look much better if the Jaguars actually had a legitimate pass rush.

Best to not even try to figure it out, it will just give you a headache.

When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

He's in conversation for being the best WR in football.  He's having a heck of a season with a bunch of scrubs at QB.

JDub is to posters as Ryan Mallett is to QBs.
