If we are picking 8-12 then we are most likely looking at Hargreaves, Myles Jack, Jaylon Smith, Reggie Ragland, or A'Shawn Robinson.
This is a pretty decent year to be around #10. The talent level looks pretty balanced throughout the top 15.
I'd say we have to look hard at Ramsey if he's there. Otherwise take the best defensive lineman... although I will say, if Jaylon Smith runs well, he could be an option. I wanted Perryman last year, but another fast LB to pair with Telvin wpuld be excellent.

2015 NFL Draft - Analyzing Targets www.jungle.jaguars.com/index.php?/topic/7892-2015-nfl-draft-analyzing-targets/
I'm confused. At #11 it says the HTH tiebreaker applies for the Bears and Rams. How is that possible if in all the years I have been following the draft, the pick order was never affected by HTH meetings? Maybe I am missing something here, but I always read the only draft tiebreakers are SOS and a coin flip.

Quote:Vernon Hargreaves please. We need an elite cornerback. I think it is highly probable. A lot is going to depend on how he measures and I believe UF inflated his numbers a bit. There is no way he weights 190-200 pounds and I also wouldn't be shocked if he came in under 5'11".

They might as well not measure and weigh the players. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Based on their schedule, I don't see the Jags picking 8th. They should win against Atlanta and have a decent chance to beat New Orleans, despite that game being on the road. Houston should win the season finale, especially if they need it to win the AFC South. Yesterday seemed like a turning point for this team the way they came back and "exploded" for 51 points. Of course, the downside is that they will miss out on the elite players such as Bosa, Ramsay and Tunsil. As was indicated earlier, this is actually a good year to be picking between 10-15. There will still be very good players available. That being said, I predict the Jags end up picking 12th in the first round. If this happens, the following players would be great options, IF AVAILABLE:
1. Hargreaves- probably not on the board, but would be a steal at 12. 2. Ogbah- my personal choice. Pass rush is greatest need. Fowler and Ogbah should fix the problem with a healthy Marks. 3. Jaylen Smith/Myles Jack- One of these guys paired with Smith would be fun to watch. Poz still has another year or two. How's this for a possible scenario: Round 1- Ogbah (add to Fowler and healthy Marks and pass rush fixed). Round 2- Cravens or Darron Lee ( major upgrade at linebacker. Skuta becomes valuable reserve and special teams stud. Round 3- Best available left tackle to develop. How about local boy John Theus from Bolles or Kyle Murphy from Stanford? Free agency: Hope Gipson is available and overpay to address team's 2nd greatest weakness, although Evans played well yesterday. Cornerback is not addressed until after round 3 as I think House and Colvin can be solid tandem. Marshall actually looked good yesterday and appears to be in the team's plans. I would feel extremely good about our offense staying the same except for the addition of a left tackle to provide depth. Wisnieuski (bad snaps must stop) and Bowanko are adequate at center although certainly not strengths. The defense would look like this: Fowler/Marks/Miller/Odrick with Ogbah/Davis/Jones/Alualu rotating in. Smith/Poz/Cravens or Lee with Skuta/Tripp/Armbrister as depth Gipson/Cyprien with Evans/Sample/Brown as depth House/Colvin with Marshall as one of the reserves. Would cut McCray and Gratz and find replacements in draft or free agency. This roster, in my opinion, would be fun to watch and be legitimate contenders for a playoff berth next season. Even the national media would get on the Jaguars bandwagon for the first time in many years. Quote:Vernon Hargreaves please. We need an elite cornerback.I agree the Jags need a starting outside corner. However, I also feel they need a starting OTTO LB. Currently I would prefer to sign a guy like Trumaine Johnson in FA then draft Jaylon Smith or Myles Jack Note: I don't feel Cravens is big enough to play LB in the NFL. I personally see him as a safety
Quote:I agree the Jags need a starting outside corner. the problem I see with the OTTO is none of the guys slated to go when we are picking would fit there. Jaylen Smith and Myles Jack both seem to be inside guys to me. Out of the two Myles seems like he would have a better chance at playing the OTTO, however he has very little pass rush moves and was rarely called on to do it. Now, Myles is extremely raw and oozing with potential so maybe they could him teach him up for that spot, but I just think he would be way better suited at inside linebacker. Jack's main strengths are his speed, coverage, and playmaking skills which would make him and Telvin a drool worthy combo.

Quote:Myles Jack looks like a first round running back too It'd be awesome to see a NFL team use him in short yardage situations.
Quote:I agree the Jags need a starting outside corner. Obviously we need an Otto linebacker, but the back end is a bigger issue. We can pick a linebacker in the second round if not the first. That would fix it. Has Cravens ever played safety in college?
Quote:I always hate it when teams do that. There is no good reason for it. They might as well not measure and weigh the players. They weigh the players to determine how much they weigh. This has an effect on how much they eat and consequently how much it's going to cost to feed them. They measure their height to determine if they are too tall to fit under a shower head in the locker room. If they are too tall they trade him to a team with taller shower heads. That would fix it.Good question about Cravens. I honestly don't know whether he has played safety or not. He is a "do it all" player that is similar to both Smith and Jack with the exception of being quite a bit smaller. I wish I saw a "do it all" LB in round two of the draft that could step right in and start immediately at OTTO...currently I don't We show less advertisements to registered users. Not many linebackers are "do it all" guys if you mean able to play multiple positions. Plus we have Telvin Smith on the other side. To me a "do it all" player is one that can...rush the quarterback, play the run, and play solid coverage, all equally well. Very hard to come by. Quote:I think it is highly probable. But if he's available at our pick, we should not even hesitate to pick him. I think FS needs to be ultimately addressed, whether in the draft or hopefully FA - like Berry, Gipson, etc. |
