thats cool youre entitled to your opinion, but i believe theyre all deserving of first round grades, not saying they will be picked there though, but im sure all wont go past the 2nd round.

Quote:I'd love to. I don't want a mediocre QB to keep us on a mediocre treadmill for the next 4-7 years. If we draft a QB, I want him to be a thoroughbred that has the potential to be a top 5 QB in the NFL. I wouldn't spend a high pick on anyone who wouldn't live up to that billing, especially with all of the holes on our current roster.

How does he not have top 5 potential? He has every tool you need.

Why will he be a mediocre qb?

There is only one reason to even have a Carr vs Bridgewater thread. It's called drugs. Does the water supply in Jacksonville have something in it?

He doesn't go through his reads, or keep his eyes down the field consistently along with just generally having poor throwing mechanics when facing pressure. He's pretty much a CC of his brother.

That's what I was trying to convey. Luckily for the residents of Jax however, I think the OP is an "out of towner"

I didn't see him last year but in the games I've seen he hasn't been as bad as his brother. Not amazing like Bridgewater but definitely good enough.

A month or so ago, Mariota was getting talked up as the potential top QB. He has let out some major duds since.

A week or so ago, Manziel was getting talked up as the potential top QB. He let out a major dud against LSU.

And now this week, it seems like Carr is getting talked up as the potential top QB. Lets see if he lets out a dud.

Carr has the physical tools. Im surprised by how strong his arm is. But his footwork is awful. And as others have said I see a lot of criticism that he stares down his primary target. Those are things that can be fixed. But do you want to use a first round draft pick on a guy who may or may not get scared in the face of a rush.

I don't want either one of these QB's. I hope we do win enough games to get out of that number one slot. I'd rather see us take a WR like Mike Evans or OT Jake Matthews out of Texas A&M around that fourth or fifth slot. And then go QB in round two. Target a guy like either Zach Mettenberger or Tajh Boyd in RD2. And it's possible Boyd is there. Based on how most draftboards are looking right now. It's typically going like this.

1. Bridgewater

2. Mariota

3. Manziel

4. Hundley

5. Carr

I just really like Mettenberger and Boyd from this year's class. Both of them can get the football deep down the field and just seem to get things done.

Ever since that FSU loss it seems people have soured on Boyd, but he's rebounded nicely especially in the past few weeks.

Nothing wrong with getting spanked by a good football team. FSU has just about blown thru everybody this year. He looked good in week one against my dawgs, that's for sure though. But the kid is pretty good. I like the way he plays and operates out there for the Tigers. I think he'd be a good fit here.

I think so too, he's my 2nd favorite QB in this draft.

I like Boyd alot too. I was impressed by how he played against LSU last year in the bowl game and to start the year against Georgia.

I am not saying they will, or should. But if the team went with a Clowney or Barr in the first round, Boyd could be an option in the second.
