I'll do it...fire Babich

Players not plays. We were top 7 in sacks last year and we are getting sacks out of Clem and Brancher of all players. Pass rush is a problem, but talent is a bigger problem. Plus, I'm not claiming to be a damn GM, I'm just saying I feel like he'd be more aggressive than Babich. Who isn't. When Babich has been aggressive, Wash's linemen get there. But just throwing out a name. Yield, smoky. Just a thought

Ok, I'll give you that. A more aggressive play-caller would go a long way. I mean, we're paying Skuta a ton of money to be a pass-rushing OLB. Let's rush the damn passer with him!

Who would be an available DC for next year? I just hope we don't get someone from Seattle. No offense, but that defense is Pete Carroll's creation. Maybe Sean McDermott.

McDermott will be a head coaching candidate next year at this rate, even with the second-half meltdown by the Panthers today.

There is just a lack of talent on that side of the ball. I don't think any D coordinator could get more out of this squad.

Gus sets what type of Defense he wants his team to play....if you're gonna fire Babich then you need to blame Gus too.

This is the worst defense in Jaguars history, Yes? I don't think it's possible for the jags to keep Babich to keep his job
No commercial messages in sigs

What else could they have them done. If anything blame the offense. AN INT and the fumbles put this team in bad spots.

The offense could have played better.  I will say that.

I don't think today was Olsen's best day as an OC either.

I still think a better coach has this team winning this division this year.

I want a new HC, OC and DC.  ST too.

New blood please.

Absolute nonsense. That excuse might have worked in years past, but this years team has enough talent to by playing a lot better than it is. Don't get me wrong, we still need to make major upgrades, but a decent staff would have us closer to a middle of the road D than the bottom of the league D we currently enjoy.

Good post. I'm pleased to see some logic in this thread at least somewhere.

Yes, the defense needs to be much better.

Yes, the scheme is questionable in some situations.

Yes, the talent level needs upgraded.

For this game alone, I think the defense played really well at times and gave this team a chance at a victory.

-They held Atlanta to only 2 FGs in the 2nd half.

-They stopped drives when they had to do it.

-The 3rd down conversions were ridiculous. But 2 or 3 of those conversions were just clutch plays by Ryan, Julio, White.

The offense was terrible in the 1st half. The offense was terrible in the 4th qtr (fumbling issues stalled 2 drives alone).

Most of the season's woes are at the defense's feet, absolutely. But today, this one was on the offense IMO.

I get that Olsen has had some questionable games, but the overall improvement in the offense can't be understated. I think we would be terribly remiss to shake up the offensive staff right now.

I really don't think Gus is going anywhere next season, with that being said I would be shocked if Babich stayed. The defense was very aggressive last week and regressed to there old ways once again this week. We will see what happens but I really do believe if we played more aggressive D we Win.

The Offense didn't show up until the 3rd and then left in the 4th but we can't expect them to march down the field every game and win with less then two minutes left. The D needed to stop them earlier (like on one of the three 3rd and longs) and give the O a little more time to work with.

Tell me what good defensive scheme or coordinator would repeatedly put a linebacker alone guarding one of the best wide receivers in the league. That should seriously never happen.

It looks more and more that babich hire is a bad one, worse than jedd. The defense has no answer in the middle of the field. A good DC would have fixed after being exploited by every team week after week.
