God, I hope not.  If you get a chance, watch some of his games this year. Just the Titans, Steelers, and Seahawks games alone will make you think twice.

The forgotten guy is Bowanko. I wonder how much he has improved since last year?

I guess it is telling though, that he hasn't replaced a very mediocre Wizniewski in the lineup.

I could be completely out of my lane but wasn't there talk that Bowanko was getting reps as the backup LT?

I thought that was more of a "the more you can do thing" than a permanent one.

Bowanko is probably just a great utility lineman that can fill multiple spots in a pinch.  Would love to see us get a topnotch center.  the interior of our line could end up being a real strength.

As far as the tackles, I dont dislike Joeckel as much as the consensus around here.  I dont think he is a top 15 LT but I dont think he is awful either.  He is just a guy.  He makes one or two whiff plays a game and then kinda holds his own the rest of the time.  Doesnt dominate, just gets in the way.  The problem is it isnt easy finding a really good or even great LT to replace him with.  We could just as easily spend a bunch of money and end up with another Parnell but this time at LT.  I wouldnt want that.  Parnell is just a guy as well.  Thats easier to hide at RT and gets a lot less scrutiny.  But a great LT... odds are you arent finding that in free agency.  If you want to seriously upgrade the position you need to do it in the draft.  And odds we are going defense early and often.

From everything I've read Mack has not been the same this year.

This is true, but he's playing where he doesn't want to be for too long now..Even with his performance drop, he's still better and stronger at the point of attack than Wiz.

Wiz gets pushed around way to much and is a big part of why we can't pick up 2nd and 1, then 3rd and 1, then 4th and 1... Wiz needs to go

I think when the dust settles, the only guy not starting on this line next year will be Beadles.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Yea pretty much. Unfortunately, Joeckel will be at LT again.

Lol. Wiz is only signed to a 1 year deal. If they can't replace him something is wrong... He's barely an upgrade over Bowanko as a rookie.

Quote:Beadles gets replaced, Wiz definitely gets replaced, and I think Parnell should be upgraded. Jermey is exactly what he was in Dallas, a great backup that can give you solid play if someone gets hurt. He can't do it for 16 games though.
I agree with this and I will add some competition at LT.  The Joke at times has played solid football but is not consistent enough.  The Joke would have many more sacks credited to him if it were not for bortles ability to escape the rush.

I wonder if the Jags pursue Mack.  I have not watched a cleveland game this year so don't know how he has been performing.

I wonder how much Mack would ask for?

Mack opted not to allow the Browns to trade him before the trade deadline. So his decline has nothing to do with disliking the team when he had several potential outs before the deadline.

Mack has been bullied all season. I don't think he has rebounded from injury at all.
