Gus Bradley Back in 2016

Quote:Clearly, a self-made billionaire is stupid.

Not that this is the best of all decisions...in a vacuum.  But decisions in the real world aren't made in a vacuum.  There are worse things than stability during the rebuild.  How many seasons did it take Marvin Lewis to build a perennial winner? (Or Tom Landry?)  Gus may be neither of those guys.  But with a mostly bare cupboard on defense, what did we really expect?  Give it one more year.

Hiring Mularkey

Saying fans are only the ones who buy tickets (This isn't even football related, you use your common sense to realize you don't say such things)

Keeping Bradley

Yes, he is stupid.

I find people like you pretty funny, people that think GMs, HCs, and Owners are some kind of geniuses.

Quote:Having one of the best QBs in the history of the game sure smooths over a lot of coaching deficiencies. Otherwise, Belichick would be polishing his rings from all those titles....in Cleveland or New Jersey.
Yes, this is true. But I go back to the Super Bowl when Malcolm Butler,  (who?) , stepped in front of Ricardo Lockette to intercept in the end zone and seal the win for the Pats. It was coaching who instructed Butler to look for that route, in that situation, in that formation. He was coached up. I don't see that from Gus.

I guess I just don't get it. Obviously we're striving for different goals here.

Quote:your the only butt hurt diva i see? i asked simpe to the point questions and you avoided both. What do you think the head coach does and if we where 8-7 i the division lead would you want Gus fired?? but go ahead avoid the questions and tell me more how much im crying.SMH
If we're 8-7 he would be considered a good football coach that led his team to the playoffs with an awful defense. Unfortunately, he's not a good coach and we're 5-10. This is like asking would you fire him if he was 15-0? This is a stupid question.

Wanna really lol? Compare the rosters of both teams when both coaches first got there. The intimidating 1-2 punch of Gabbert/Henne wasn't enough to win many games unfortunately.

The point remains.  Both teams under-achieved this year.

Team A held their coach responsible and realized he's not the right coach to get the most out of their players.

Team B is the #becausejaguars

Im already excited.

Quote:Average age of the teams in the playoffs vs. the Jaguars roster?
Does the age thing really matter? We had 2k yard receivers and a QB that is tied for TD's with Brady... Not to mention the rest of our weapons and star TE. Yeldon could've gotten his 1k if he didn't get hurt as well. This team shouldn't have lost to teams that were the worst in the NFL at one point, and we just didn't look prepared. Good coaching staffs kick teams while they're down and exploit weaknesses if they're struggling. Instead we were the crutch teams needed to get back on their feet and then trampled us in the process. 90yd screens/QB scrambles don't happen to other football teams, especially when they're winning. It's like our team isn't coached to finish games out, instead they make the biggest mistakes imaginable. Our roster is arguably the best in the division and good coaches would've taken advantage of this weak division.

Who knows, maybe Caldwell acquires so much talent on the D side that things miraculously turn around...  I mean, it could happen.  Through I think the odds are more in line of us winning 7 games... And honestly, I think I'm being optimistic.  I could also see us just wallowing at 5-6 wins next year as well...

Boom or bust year?  I don't think so.  More of the same is what I see from this head coach.  And if we lose Marrone or Olson...  Oh man, I don't even want to think about that.

I just don't see what more you need to evaluate about this Head Coach.  Unless you just want to see if maybe with better talent we can maintain the status quo?  At the end of the day, Gus just isn't gonna be a playoff caliber type guy.

Whatever.  We all knew he was getting 2016.  I just don't know why anyone would be happy about it.  Even us Gus Bust posters aren't freakin' out over him staying.  It just is this apathetic thing that we all resolved ourselves too and now it's here.

Kinda like when your wife/girlfriend has her monthly period.  Everyone knows it's comin'.  Nobody wants it to arrive, but hey, there's nothing you can do about it.  Just deal with it for another period of time, knowing there's no satisfaction untill it passes.

What really got my was I tune in to 1010xl and these two baffoons are howling accolades and giving false praise to PCGB as if Kahn letting him finish out his contract was some sort of worthy achievement. I really hope it's caldwells plan to load up the team with talent then crap can PCGB when he fails next year. Any one that really thinks he can lead this team to the playoffs next year may be certifiably insane.

Good example of why Ringo is so right on. You get all self-righteous when he calls you out - yet you don't see the irony of you saying things like "I don't get it" to your budding in kind Brooklyn.

Someone who doesn't see it your way just isn't on your level - just doesn't want to win badly enough? Is that about it? Thank god you are so clear sighted. The rest of us look up to you and Brooklyn for insight and guidance.

2 pro bowl caliber receivers and the best season a Jags QB ever had and we got 5 wins to show for it.

The Bradley Syndrome.

So what coaches are available for the 2017 season?

When I heard of Khan's statement I couldn't wait to check out the message board. Oh, the moaning and groaning I knew I would see.

You guys did not disappoint! Even though Khan made his decision, even though many of you cannot post on any subject without calling for Gus to be fired, even though Shad clearly isn't looking for you to help him make his decisions - you still can't resist, can you?

Such fragile egos that have to get on record, for the hundredth time, that Gus must go.

But - can't you do it with at least a little humor or inventiveness, since your opinion means absolutely nothing? Thanks.

We won't.. Teams are already looking at him.. He's gone.

Great.

Bortles has a record breaking year.

Gus Bradley's defense has a record breaking year (last in franchise history in points allowed per game)

Titans are hiring Chip Kelly for Mariota. Luck will be back. The Jags are stuck with this putz Gus Bradley who can't even stop EJ Manuel.

Bortles deserves better than this inept franchise.

How many times has that been said about a coordinator or position coach on any NFL team anywhere? Gary Kubiak and Mike Zimmer were perpetually "gone" for half a decade or more before they actually left. Marrone will be back next year, in large part because owners are going to be hesitant to trust him after how he left Buffalo.
