With the fifth pick in the 2016 NFL draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select...

Quote:Bosa would be too good to be true. Draft him and sign Olivier Vernon and you could run this lineup in spurts.

LEO - Vernon

DT - Odrik

DT - Marks

DE - Bosa

WLB - Telvin

MLB - Poz

OTTO - Fowler

Then imagine Darian Thompson FS in the second and Desmond king CB in the third. Now that would be a great FA and draft for the D.

King is a top 10 pick whenever he declares let's be real. That isn't going to be this year though.

It sounds great, but it will require a scheme change since neither Odrick or Marks play Roy's position. Unless you send one of them to the bench.

That wouldn't be the starting lineup. That would be the lineup I would roll out of pass downs, think of it like the "lightning package" on steroids. Jaguars.com has Marks now listed at 316 so he is big enough to spend some time at Miller's spot. Regardless, I would ease Marks back into the starting lineup and start Odrik at 3T. A D-Line rotation of Bosa, Vernon, Fowler, Odrik, Marks, Miller, Davis, Alualu, and Bennett could be dangerous.

It'd be nice to be able to disrupt other team's offenses like Houston did to us last Sunday.

Playing Marks at Miller's spot takes away the best thing that Marks does. As a passing down line-up, it's great. For a traditional 4-3, I think it looks great. Also, there's really no need to ease Marks like last season. His ACL should be fine, its the tricep that took him out, which shouldn't take the entire off-season + camp to rehab. He'll be fine.

If we get lucky enough to get Bosa, I think we do take him and if I'm Dave I tell Gus to adjust.

If we take bosa, I anticipate us moving to 3-4 scheme.

If we take Bosa, I anticipate more sacks and QB pressures.

Bosa is a prototypical 4-3 end.

Jalen Ramsey in the first then Noah Spence in the second

Unless he bombs the Combine interviews, Spence will more than likely go in the first.

Quote:I've not really watched Billings much (as I don't perceive it as a big need for the Jags), but did watch Donald at Pitt. From a few yt clips/highlights of Billings, he's far from the type of player that Donald is/was. Not saying he's not as good (as I've said, not evaluated him much), but from build and style, I don't think the two are alike.

Donald is just crazy explosive at DT, which is what makes him special.

I don't see that out of Billings...at all. He seems more of a power guy to me.
Agreed. The two guys are completely different in every aspect of the game. Billings looks to be a stud at what he does so this is no knock on him but he simply does things differently from Donald. IMO they are not comparable at all.

Hold up....

Jalen Ramsey had 0 ints and 1 sack this year? And only 3 total ints in his Florida State career?

I'm trying my hardest to believe Ramsey is the guy, but his game tape really isn't that impressive and now I see these stats? I get that he has skills and looks like a ferocious competitor, but so is a guy like Cyprien. I want to see production!

Well ints don't really show the whole story for DBs.
