Your top 3 free agent targets for Jaguars defense?

#21

FA - Janoris Jenkins (Gator)

Draft - VH3 (Gator)

Roster - Fowler (Gator)

Jenkins please. Get them Gators!

Then, eventually the Jags can somehow try to land Bryan Cox Jr. and load that defense baby!

To fix the LEO/OTTO positions, we need to bring in atleast 3, whether through draft or free agency. Seeing as the draft lacks edge rushers, I'll say Vernon, Irving, and a veteran like Hali or Williams. That's a dream scenario, IMO. That would give us the flexibility to go get Ramsey to be our "qb" of the secondary. Would love to have Berry or Gipson, but I doubt we will snag one. I could see Weddle coming in as a stop gap.

Would also like to see us add a couple offensive linemen, like Mack and someone to compete for Joke-ls spot. And a kicker to push Myers.

8 draft picks as well to keep adding depth to our offensive line and defense.

I like the idea of signing Jenkins and eventually drafting Bryan Cox Jr in 2017. I however don't see drafting Hargreaves at number 5 but maybe if we trade down out of top 10. I' m not really sure who I would like with 5th overall pick yet. Jaylon Smith was my thinking.

I think we draft our safety in Jalen Ramsey. The kid has Gus Bradley tattooed on his forhead. Vernon and Jenkins are both realistic.

Quote:Berry ain't leaving KC

I'm wondering if Eric hits the market because his cancer diagnosis might have them letting him ruling out a franchise tag on him. He's still my top target although I would need him to take a physical and would want to talk to his doctor. Similarly, I'd love to have a shot at Von Miller or Josh Norman, but I really don't see the Broncos and Panthers letting either go. Gipson would be a target if Berry simply isn't there.

As for additional targets, immediately I'm calling up Bruce Irvin to secure the OTTO spot once and for all. I'm hoping with the Seahawks having to commit so much money to so many different players, that he ends up hitting free agency.

I keep seeing Olivier Vernon as a LEO prospect, but only recently so I'm still a tad skeptical about him.

On the flip side, t
here are a couple potential targets being meantioned that I'm just not so sure about...

I'm a little leary about Mario Williams coming off a down year now that he's up there in age. I'd need to give him a good work out to see if he can still play. Eric Weddle in my mind is not an option. I've heard too much flak about his being a liability in coverage and he's been rather injury prone as of late. Both of these guys sound like FAs who will getting paid for past performance and not future performance.

I know this thread is about defensive targets, but just to mention them, my offensive targets would be LT Cordy Glenn, C Lyle Sendlein,  RB Ronnie Hillman and QB Chase Daniel.

So move a pro bowl talent RG to center, move Joeckel to RT, I guess Parnell is a back up then...

Linder stays at RG, Parnell stays at RT, Cann goes to LG. You upgrade Joeckel and Wiz in FA with Mack and Glenn. With a solid LG, Joeckel might not even be too bad, he wasn't terrible all year until that Houston game.

Quote:Olivier Vernon, Muhammad Wilkerson, and Tashaun Gipson. I prefer Berry, and i think the Chiefs might not be able to pay him what he's worth, but I think he'll stay in KC, at least for 2016 on the franchise tag.

The Chiefs have over 35 mil in cap space. They can afford to pay Berry whatever he wants. No franchise tag needed. He isn't leaving KC.

I'd take Marcus Maye over McGee. All homerism aside, this is actually a pretty good draft.

Hargreaves, Bullard, Davis, and Neal are all very good players. It's going to be interesting to see how they adapt to the NFL.

I didnt know that, thanks. I just assumed that with Justin Houston, Jamaal Charles, and Jeremy Maclin all getting paid big money that they would be closer to the cap. Unfortunate for us.
