Eric Weedle.
His initials are EW. Kind of like what I'd say if we went that route.

Eric Berry certainly was a difference maker against the Texans.   It wouldn't surprise me in the least if the Chiefs used the Franchise Tag on him if the two parties can't agree to a long term contract before the deadline to apply a Tag.

They do have the money to apply the tag, but it's getting up there. The franchise tag cost for a S this offseason will be something like $10.2 mil.

This is a good point. Still think it's next to nil that the Chiefs let Berry go, but if he does a Berry/Ramsey duo would be absolutely insane.

KYjaggy,  because Eric Berry is a former # 5 overall pick,  that combination would likely be the highest draft slot Safety combination that played for the same team,  at the same time if both ended up with the Jaguars!

The tangible and intangible elements that Eric Berry provides the Chiefs would at least from my perspective make it difficult for the Chiefs to let Eric Berry hit the open market as an UFA.   Even if it means that they have to make one or more other difficult salary cap decisions.   Berry is clearly even more than a feel good story.

It definitely would be, and I'd love to see it...but alas.

It won't get that far. KC loves Eric Berry. Eric Berry loves KC. They'll find a way.

Rashad Johnson from Arizona may be a under the radar name we can pick up if Weddle or Gipson can't get signed.
