This reminds me to ask you something....   Do you know of anyone in the Jax area mechanic world that really knows Volvos? 

The dealers are obviously exorbitantly priced with repairs and the only "Euro Specialist" I've tried locally (thus far) didn't really know the car well enough to pinpoint the issue.

There's a place called Blanding Automotive Volvo Specialist on 103rd St. (shrug, I don't get it either). My daughter bought a Volvo from a guy I worked with who always took it there for service when he owned it. We took it once while she owned it and they seemed to be competent, friendly and not predatory.
