2016 Signing Day

#1

I know a lot of guys here follow recruiting pretty closely.  I tried to check some things out yesterday, but didn't find out much more than I already knew.  Any inside information?  Looks like FSU is still in the running for some of the big names that have not committed yet.

I thought there was a recruiting thread at some point shortly after signing day from last year, but I couldn't find it.

Next Wednesday.  Signing day has really changed from the past.  So many of these schools already have 5 to 10 guys or more already enrolled for the spring semester that it shows they already have a third of their class locked up.  Takes some of the pressure off the coaching staff.

UCF kind of off topic here but wanted to get the feeling around Scott Frost and how everyone is feeling about the future of the program. Nebraska guy here but not necessarily sold on him. Thinking he really benefited from having the best QB in the country for most of his time calling plays at Oregon.

Not really sure this would get a guy to go to your school.  Interesting tactic though.

People seem excited because of the difference in styles between him and O'Leary.  He's more  young and brash while O'Leary was a plodder and boring.  It's funny you say that about Frost and Mariota when O'Leary had his best years at UCF it was with Bortles.  Once he was gone it was pretty much in the tank with UCF.

With O'Leary UCF never had names on the back of jerseys, they will now go back to that.  He also said he plans to try and recruit big name players, something O'Leary never really did.  He was more than happy to settle for the guys that the big 3 in the state were not going after.  If you don't take a chance on going after the big players you can't make any headway.

A lot of kids in Florida play in a spread type offense and the big college programs in the state play a pro style.  UCF is the only college now that gives kids a chance to stay in that type of offense.  It will be interesting if he can sell that to the kids.

I am excited to see what Frost will do at UCF. With all the athletes in Florida, I would love to see UCF turn into "Oregon East".

I'm expecting another let down on signing day. Hoping to be surprised though.

This kid is unbelieveable fast and a very good player. Don't count Stanford out, still taking his tests and he may get in. He's a kid who is about academics.

That doesn't have squat on a sleepover with Jim Harbaugh.

I heard on 1010 that FSU had an in home visit yesterday with the #1 prospect in the country (a DE I believe?).  Coming down to them and Ohio State.  Really really pulling for FSU on this one.

I think he is talking about Kongbo, DE. He is the #1 overall junior college transfer. I believe Tennessee is the favorite, with FSU and Ole Miss gaining ground. He is currently in Tallahassee on an official visit.
New signature because HIGH SCORE found the periodic table offensive. Pathetic LOL

I meant the one who is considering Ohio State.

Word is Shavar Manual could be flipping from UF to FSU and FSU could get Brian Burns too. Oh how sweet that would be.

If that is good news for FSU I am going to wish he kept his commitment to UF.

I don't know of any top players FSU and OSU are competing for.
