Are we still on the BBINT thing?

Quote:"Many?" I'd like to hear all these TDs he threw in garbage time, because I counted 3 (2 against NE, one against NO) that came when the game was completely out of reach, and there was maybe a handful more that put us within a TD in the final 2 minutes. I don't see how you could argue he threw any more than 5 "garbage time" TDs, and I wouldn't define that as many.
I like Blake Bortles as much as the next guy.

It's more than 3 though.

Just off the top of my head, week 5 versus the Texans. He threw a TD to Hurns to make it an 11 point game. That was with 4 mins left in the 4th quarter...

After that TD and we got the ball back, our team had 1 minute to score, stop them on offense, fair catch the punt, drive down the field and score another TD to win.

That's one.

Versus Tampa, he threw one to Robinson. A TD, followed by an successful onside kick, followed by our offense (on our own 47 btw) driving down the field to win the game wasn't going to happen.

Oh yea, all of that would have had to of occurred in 1 minute as well.

For the record, I couldn't care less that Bortles throws some garbage time TDs. So did Tom Brady when he played us. This does not dampen my opinion of him as a QB.

Down by 11 with 4 and half minutes left is not garbage time.  It's absolutely feasible to score that much in that time.  I don't know where you got that play-by-play, but we got the ball back with 3:30 left to play and got to the Houston 28 before Bortles threw a pick.

I can understand the Tampa one, but we still scored and had a chance to tie the game.  I don't consider that garbage time, even if the tie was unlikely, but to each their own.

Down by 11 with 4 mins left (pretty sure all times out were used) is feasible on paper, but in relative terms, when you take into account how poor we played, it would of been damn near impossible.

"Unlikely" and "impossible" are nearly synonymous in the NFL.

But like you said, to each his own, there isn't an official "garbage time" or anything.

Two scores with 4 minutes left is feasible enough that the defense isn't letting up. The whole premise of garbage time is that the defense is no longer trying so no, that wouldn't qualify as garbage time.

That's normal, and we should just expect/accept him to do that at least once every game because he's a "gunslinger".

C'mon man,, get with the program, lol!

**seriously,, BB would be golden if he could quit those bone-headed errors once in a while.

Can you reference a game where the defense "wasn't trying"? For any team?

Score two touchdowns, in four minutes, with no timeouts, against the team that has been moping the floor with you, in a game that took you 4 quarters to reach a mere 14 points.... Lol yea, def likely to pan out.

You do know what a prevent defense is, correct?

A TD and a field goal is all they need and 4 minutes is more than enough time to do that. If you have never seen a team struggling to score suddenly flip a switch and put a couple of scores together, then you haven't watched much NFL.

A defense isn't going  to concede a TD or allow it to be easy like you are trying to imply with this "garbage time" TD reference. He would be facing a defense that is doing everything in their power to keep them out of the endzone.

There is nothing garbage about that. That is as legit of a TD as it gets not to mention the added difficulty of doing it in a high pressure must score situation.

A TD and a field goal is all they needed? The ending score was 31-20.

Lol this is awesome, do you know how to count? 7+3=10. 10+20=30. 30 < 31. Got it now?

I " imply " that a defense won't concede to a TD, but you say that garbage time is when a defense "gives up" and you STILL haven't referenced a game in which such a scenario occurred?

Lmbo, Seriously, you know you are on the Jacksonville Jaguars message board now, right?
