Both are terrible. Cyprien was a terrible draft pick from FIU; just because his measurables were good. Well Matt Jones measurables were good too; get good football players like Telvin Smith and Rashad Greene, not projects like Cyprien.

Lageman said on the radio this morning that he feels Sample will provide plenty of competition for Cyprien and he expects Sample to ultimately win the job. He said Sample showed better instincts in the few games he played in than Cyp has shown in 3 years.


Interesting being that Lageman is usually not one to speak his mind like this.

Not sure what he saw. Sample played only sparingly and didn't impress me as a rookie.

I hope he's right though.

IIRC, Jones was close to a 1000 yard season. Before he did 1000 yards of cocaine.

Joeckel....has never impressed me but seems to have impressed Caldwell...so who knows.

Is Marrone going to be the O-line coach next year?

Was not Joeckel one of Caldwells picks? If so, then it could be that Dave may have ulterior reasons for wanting to hang on to him.

Wash also said there could be some players changing positions. While he didn’t want to be specific, general manager David Caldwell said last week that the team might take a look at cornerback Nick Marshall at safety. In addition, a team source said cornerback Dwayne Gratz could also get a look at safety and the team briefly talked during last season about safety Johnathan Cyprien possibly playing some outside linebacker.
