DRob - "Definitely want to stay in Jacksonville,"
|
They should keep him at least until his contract runs out. Give hime more time to prove himself. I'd hate to see him go to the patriots and be a beast. You know how much [BLEEP] JAX will get if that happens ?

He's lucky if he makes the 53 man roster next year

He'll play out his final year.... and then we'll see.
I don't see any scenario where he isn't on the roster for this season though. Unless someone trades for him, I guess. Not sure I'd wanna give up on his home run potential for a 5th or 6th though. After Yeldon, the RB group is murky. D-Rob will get his chance to be a key contributor as a spell back and package guy. Gerhart is out, imo. Gray and Grant will be our other two RBs I assume.
Quote:He'll play out his final year.... and then we'll see.agreed. There's no point in letting him go just yet unless we got a decent trade for him. Let him finish his tour here; if he shows up and does good then great, if not...
The bottom line is the jags have got to get more reliable production out of his position. They can't afford to give Robinson any more gimme seasons.
I expect to see an infusion of talent at RB this off season. Robinson is going to have to earn his roster spot. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Denard has had 6 20+ yard runs in 220+ carries. He's not a home run hitter at all.
He's only had 1 40 yarder either. Why keep going with a fumbling non playmaker? Quote:Denard has had 6 20+ yard runs in 220+ carries. He's not a home run hitter at all.Really dude? He had one season where he was learning a new position (and didn't really have one) then he was injured... And we've never had great Oline play... and we hadn't, until recently, had any resemblance of an offense... He was never supposed to be our superstar RB.... but as a role player he has a spot on this roster. If nothing else, because after Yeldon and him, the talent is... well questionable. Quote:He's lucky if he makes the 53 man roster next yearI doubt that, we would have to bring in 3 RBs this offseason thats better then him for him to be cut, thats a long shot, we will be focusing on other positions

RB depth chart 2016
Yeldon DRob Gray Grant Why would you want it to be Yeldon, Gray, Grant, rookie not named Henry/Elliot/Dixon We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:RB depth chart 2016 Simple... Yeldon ...drafted 2nd round. D Rob ...drafted 5th round, converted QB with hands liability to date. Gray ...undrafted, 3 teams in 3 seasons. Grant ...undrafted, fast, primarily 3rd down and edge back due to lack of bulk. The RBs you list, aside from Yeldon can be upgraded on paper beyond 3 RBs in this draft. Quote:Simple...Sure they can. I didn't say they couldn't. But, with whom? And why would we want to cut Drob one year shy of his contract to give some unknown or some rehash FA his spot? Especially since we're talking about back-ups and role players. My question wasn't answered. Why would you WANT your RB depth to essentially get worse, just to replace a guy who fumbled too much in his limited chances this past season. Cut DRob, Pierce and Gerhart are likely gone. Which leaves us with Yeldon, and two undrafted nobodies. (Although I think Gray could end up a solid back up) Point of the matter is... D Rob definitely wants to stay, and there is no reason why fans should definitely want him gone prior to his contract expiring. If this season goes by and he hasn't done much, or anything, we can move on and upgrade then. (Maybe Grant was the speed we intend to replace Drob with)
Quote:Really dude? He was supposed to break some big runs it hasn't happened. Jordan todman was a bigger threat
Hopefully Gerhart can finally have a healthy offseason. Having Toby and T.J. as a one-two punch can be formidable. Grant, Denard, and Gray can probably fight for the 3rd spot.

I'm not saying don't bring in competition. I just don't understand why anyone would want to straight up cut D-Rob. Bring in 20 RBs and let the best play, hell yeah, but I'm saying you don't cut a guy (who doesn't count toward the cap for hardly any $) just because he fumbled last year. If you cut D-Rob right now, our RB depth is instantly worse. UNLESS you replace him with a guy you know is equally good or better. If we cut Drob and don't sign any FA RB, we're looking at the RB list I gave... not better by any means than last year. Yeldon's back ups got very little reps until he was injured. He has to much talent to let go

Quote:Simple... Do they not teach the concept of "opportunity cost" wherever you earned your GED? If you use your rd 2, 3, or 4 pick to upgrade RB then you can't use that pick to upgrade LB, DE, or OL. |
