   It's probably more to do with the nature of the QB position than anything.

 

   Most of the time backup players on a team don't get much attention,  relatively speaking.   For every Guy Whimper,  there's 500 Backup Offensive Lineman that will never be the focal point of a thread except when they sign a contract or are released.
