Quote:... just move on and get Brooks, Allen, Boone, Silatolu, Foster, etc and be plenty happy they are all good players.

Quote:Give me Brooks for 7.5-ish.

Brooks, Boone and Foster make sense as other notable options to me.

Boone will be pricy - but maybe less than Osemele unless someone wants him at tackle.  Brooks and Foster should come at better prices and ought to be better than Beadles.

I really liked Mike Iupati last year, and he signed a 5 year $40m contract, or $8m per year.  If Osmele is looking for over $10m per year, let him walk.  He would not be signed here to play LT, but he wants LT money to play OG.

Some believe he is capable of playing LT. It's difficult to fault the guy for asking to be paid as such.

If we didn't have Cann or Linder, I'd say go for it. But we need to solidify Center first and I'm not sold on Cann at Center. There's cheaper options at the G position we could get. If he was a genuine LT, then yes. Upgrade. But I (personally) haven't seen him play T; so I can't say he's the answer.

GO JAGS!!

Pay the guy whatever it takes. I strongly believe that there is nothing more important than having a dominant offensive line. Not only can this guy significantly upgrade the guard position, but he would be a valuable backup at left tackle. How many games have the Jaguars lost over the past 3-4 years due to terrible offensive line play ? As far as center goes, it's not like they don't have other options. They can have Cann, Shatley, Bowanko and possibly Wisnieuski (if re-signed) battle it out. I really think one of these guys is capable of being more than satisfactory. A line of Joeckel, Linder, Cann, Osemele and Parnell has the potential to be dominant for years. All are fairly young, except Parnell, but even he has several good years left due to only starting for 1 year. Yeldon showed much promise last year and with a line like this he will be quite capable of gaining over 1200 yards. This is great for the continued development of Bortles who will not need to take as many chances which inevitably will lower his turnovers. The defense would subsequently be much improved due to less time on the field. The draft and most of free agency will be focused primarily on defense, but this is one offensive player they should pursue strongly.

Bottom line, it is rare for a talented player in his prime to hit free agency and if Osemele does Caldwell needs to do whatever it takes to lock him up.

Why do we continue to talk guard? Our two best players on the line Linder and Cann are guards. I am worried about moving them to center.Just go get a center in the 3rd round. We have done pretty good the last 2 years in the 3rd

AJ Cann was a center coming out of high school. He has the perfect measurements to play center. There is no reason to think he can't play center. I have absolutely no worries about moving Cann to center.

Mayock called Cann an immediate starter at Center or guard at last year's combine.

Yeah I think you either Sign Mack or Osemele. Then maybe draft another olineman in the 6 or 7th rd. We have 2 6th round picks this year to.
