Myles Jack is the obvious pick

He's a fantastic talent. A rare athlete.
I'm more intrigued by him than any other potential selection at 5.
Hasn't there been a ton of buzz around him to Dallas at #4 though? I mean Jerry said he isn't going QB. Doubt they go safety at #4 either, although you never know for sure. Their line is set so no Stanley.

Quote:do we really want two guys coming from ACL surgery rushing the passer?he didnt tear his ACL, he torn his meniscus which is much easier to heal from. Quote:He can pretty much play every position on defense aside from CB. He can rush the passer and can drop into coverage effectively. Myles Jack and Telvin Smith out there is a nightmare for offenses. Prisco was watching tape on him the other day and showed where he actually lined up at nickel CB and did quite well. Guy is just a freak.
10 years ago we had Bob Hope, Johnny Cash, and Steve Jobs..... Please don't die, Kevin Bacon.

I think he'd be asked to do a lot of things, including rushing the passer - but agree, not to exclusively rush the passer.

He's coming off of an injury and hasn't even had his pro day yet. Right now, I'd be most happy with Ramsey or Hargreaves.
There is no ACL or MCL damage, he tore his miniscus, wont rush the passer and would split time with Poz, giving him even more of a breather to fully recover. I REPEAT NO ACL or MCL TEAR. This isnt a Dante Fowler or Jaylon Smith injury.
He will play MLB, he wont rush the passer, thats not his job, altho i am sure he could do it.

Quote:And this is the caution in taking him that high.Minuscus is not the M in MCL
I think that now, more than ever, defensive speed is huge. Having Jack and Smith at the LB would be great.
Quote:Minuscus is not the M in MCL Whatever you want to call it... the point remains the same. Do you like cats?

Quote:Whatever you want to call it... the point remains the same. Do you like cats?It isnt even a tendon or ligament, it is cartilage between bones. He is now fully healed and checked out to run full speed on the 11th this month. and What??? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Quote:Whatever you want to call it... the point remains the same. Do you like cats? the point does not remain the same. A torn meniscus is nothing compared to tearing a ligament. In fact, I believe he had his meniscus repaired (not just cut out/shaved down) so it's actually going to be closer to as if he never had surgery at all.

If all else is equal, you choose the candidate without injury, vs. the one that does.
I'm not saying it makes him undraftable with our first pick, so let's not go overboard. It does count. The question is, does the talent outweight it vs. alternatives? We'll see. Let's just not pretend like it's nothing at all.
