Redskins released QB Robert Griffin III.

The move saves $16.155 million against the cap. Washington had been holding out faint hope they could trade the former No. 2 overall pick, but that market expectantly came to nothing. Now a free agent, Griffin is expected to receive interest from "at least 10 teams." Griffin has not played a regular-season snap since 2014, but his upside is as high as any quarterback on the market.
