Myles Jack is the obvious pick

Assuming the browns take a qb I'd be happy with any of the other top 5 players

Tunsil

Jack

Bosa

Ramsey

Any way you look at it we are pretty well off
Agreed, unless Cleveland picks up a starting QB via trade or FA

Agree with this.

I assume Tunsil is gone. So basically Bosa, Jack or Ramsey will be there.

I don't think Jack is the obvious pick.

If Ramsey is there, we will take him.

Question:  Assuming Jack is the pick at 5 for the Jaguars and Irvin is a signing, our LBs would look like this:

Otto:  Irvin

Mike:  Jack

Will:  T.Smith

with backups being Skuta and Poz.

Skuta and Poz would seem a bit expensive to keep as backups, but certainly good enough to warrant spots.

Would you keep both, cut one, or cut both if Irvin and Jack are acquired?  Why?

I think I might be inclined to keep both for another season, if possible.  I think we need depth, and those guys would give us respectable football in a pinch.  I think we have so much cap room, we may be able to afford to keep them another year.

I also think it would give the team flexibility.  If the team had some game situations where it wanted to run a 3-4 for whatever reason, keeping Poz and Skuta would allow them to do that.

I am pretty certain Poz would be the starter for 2016, with Jack taking over the following season, Poz is signed through 2017, but there is almost zero dead money attached and he could be released.

But why would you keep a top 5 pick on the bench?

You don't. You use his athletic ability to your advantage.

Heck, he covered receivers at UCLA. Poz, at this point in his career, is at best a two down linebacker and a liability in coverage.

But if you are starting Poz at Mike, where do you play Jack?  Over Irvin, possibly your top FA?  Over Telvin Smith, the budding young star at Will?!?

I am well aware of his athletic ability, which is why I start him immediately over Poz.

My scenario was only if they kept Poz also. I just don't see them keeping if Jack is starting.

I was running on the scenario

Titans have lewan who they picked up to be an lt so they go Jack to go next to Woodyard in their 3-4 where I think he would excel tbh

Browns go wentz

Even then I think the chargers go tunsil but say they go Ramsey with king Dunlap coming back so they opt to replace weddle with an explosive athlete

Cowboys go bosa

Not likely but I think it's possible

What will the #Jaguars do in Round 1? Not sure yet, but I've heard they like Myles Jack as a SS/LB hybrid, not a MIKE

Quote:Hasn't there been a ton of buzz around him to Dallas at #4 though? I mean Jerry said he isn't going QB. Doubt they go safety at #4 either, although you never know for sure. Their line is set so no Stanley.
You think Jerry's gonna tip his hand?

With Irvin going to the Raiders, now Myles Jack is the obvious pick

With Irvin gone in free agency, I wonder if Bosa makes the most sense with the first pick.

He is freakish athlete who doesa lot of things well, but does't really excel at any one thing, and is coming of a significant knee injury.

I'm passing at number 5.

I have a feeling that this guy will go a lot lower than where he is currently being projected.

Knee injury isn't that significant.
