Was anyone else watching the game? I don't think I've ever seen the refs pull something like that, completely screwed the Redskins.

 

 

Edit: If anyone wasn't watching, the skins were stopped just short of the first down line on second down. However, the officials deemed it a first down and moved the chains. After an incomplete pass, the refs changed the down to fourth down saying the play on second down did not in fact yield a new set of downs. So what they thought was a first down play was actually a third down play, which completely changes how the skins approach that down.

That explains it. He is by far the worst referee in the NFL. Why he is still wearing black and white stripes, I will never understand.

I think Triplette should be fined, and I think he should be suspended too.  Refs need to be held accountable.  The rules allow for clock stoppage.  It's not his job to decide what's 'fair' to the Giants or not.  By doing so he was unfair to the Redskins.  I doubt the NFL will do anything, but I hope next time Triplette goes to Washington the home crowd boos him every time he speaks.
