I'm just pointing out that you can't have it both ways. Just because one entity thinks it is so, does not make it correct.

 

Woodson also benefitted from a push at the time for a defensive player to win it. There was a lot of bellyaching prior to that they are few and far between. Manning meant more to Tennessee as an individual player then did Woodson to Michigan as a whole.

I always felt that the biggest loser in all of this was Champ Bailey and his '98 season.

 

If you look at those '98 numbers, they actually blow away Woodson's Heisman season with the exception of INTs. Not that Bailey is better than Woodson, I just felt like he never really got his due for what he accomplished.
