@yahoonoise Few crazy secondary Ivory metrics from '15: 1) Gained 60.1% of yards after initial contact, 2) Forced missed tackle 19% of time. NASTY!

Quote:I'm definitely in the minority, but I don't think Toby is as bad as most of the board thinks he is. I think he can be a good short yardage back. His issue is that he is poor at dealing with penetration and disruption behind the line. If he can get to a hole clean, he is pretty solid. He just doesn't have the agility or creative running ability to make a guy miss and still hit the hole in time.

Dude....Gerhart can be a good short yardage back?

ANY Back can succeed in short yardage of the line is opening a hole for them. The good ones find a way when there isn't a hole.

Gerhart proved he couldn't get it done. I was bummed about that as I honestly felt good about him when we signed him, but he proved me wrong.

that's the point.. in the NFL, you won't be coming to the hole clean.  Maybe once in a blue moon.  You have to make people miss and you have to make something out of nothing.

Literally every running back, even from the college level on up is pretty good if he gets to the hole clean.

<p class="" style="font-size:26px;">I believe we'll look back on the Jags in two years the same way we viewed the Panthers this year. It took time -- but patience paid off.

I'm also from NY so I've been able to watch tons of Giants/Jets. Ivory had some of the biggest hits I've seen this season and he plays on offense lol.

I had Chris ivory as my number 2 fb in fantasy toward the end of last year due to all the injuries I suffered. He's amazing catching passes out of the backfield. This dude is a workhorse. We may have overpaid but I like the move. This way, if one goes down with an injury we aren't having to rely on Toby gerhart! Plus a sustained 1-2 punch. I'm more than ok with this signing.

Jets RB Chris Ivory gets $6 million from the Jags. One agent has said "it's like Monopoly money there."

Ivory can make you miss too, but yea that slippery elusiveness is TJ's game, he has the short area quicks of Freddy T but the crazy long speed.
