I'm not down on Gipson, it's just that McLeod is really darn good also and hasn't had a season like Gipson's 2015. If Gipson recovers then it's a wash we get a top 10 FS either way. If it was more than just the high ankle sprain then who knows what he'll rebound to. Just more of a risk that had me leaning a bit toward McLeod.

Keep in mind, we can still get Ogbah, Spence, Lawson, or Calhoun in the 2nd (I expect at least one of them will be available) I wouldn't think we would reach for a pass rusher in the 1st if the value isn't there

Pretty much.

 

Gipson when healthy and back in 2014 was going to be getting a massive payday last year. I'm honestly happy he battled an injury and still played solid and came here for 7M per. I'm pretty ecstatic about this pickup.

Bosa is a pass rusher and a well rounded player.  We need pass rushers, you can call him what ever you want.

For those saying Bosa is/should be the pick at 5, he rushed in college primarily from the LDE position.

 

Where do you envision Malik Jackson playing here, LDE or DT?

 

I think the answer to that question will determine whether Bosa is a real consideration at 5 or not.
