Why do the same people cry every year about FA when we don't land the mega fish? Would I like to have landed Vernon? Yes, but not at that price. He's not worth that much. And I think we did a great job so far with what we have. I wanted Gipson from the get-go, check. Jackson will have a huge impact on defense, so great get; check. Ivory is the heavy hitter RB we need to have with Yeldon running point; check. We still have the draft. Be happy people. Geeze. It's not like we traded away our best players for nothing. We got some great players to help make this defense much better. Let's get a good Guard or Center and get ol' Jack and we'll be nice on defense.

I have and its trash. Compared to Jax. Ever lived in Miami? I have been there. And its trash as well.


Tebow seen what Jersey was like. Vernon will see the mess next. Giants fans have no heart. The papers have no heart. The city unless ya a superstar ya a bum.

For what it's worth, I live in NY. I hate NYC. I don't hate other big cities. I love philly, and I like Jacksonville.


It's different for everyone. Vernon was used to Florida life and wanted to try something new. Good for him, I hope he likes it. He saved us a lot of money. As much of a nice addition he would have been, that contract was ludicrous.

Mild disappointment is a completely normal feeling!  A pass rusher would have been fantastic, and gone a long ways to towards suring up our defense.  But it didn't happen.  Dave chose his targets, and assigned a fiscal cap that he would not surpass.  Even throwing everything at Vernon, he choose NYC.  This whole "we suck and are a flaming dumpster fire" is not an appropriate response to day 1 of the new league year.

Sure....

The Broncos have yet to replace some pieces lost... but that D will still be stellar. Bring in Kap at QB, and they are contenders again.

 

My point was that there are plenty of good uses for free agency, and steering clear doesn't guarantee any more or less than buying in big on FA.

It's how the GM works it all, including drafts, that makes a team.

 

At this point, I'd take 4 really good years, including a SB victory, and then having to start over again.

Would be so worth it after the last 8 seasons.
