I get losing out Mario/Irvin because you were working on your #1 target in Vernon, but our backup plan in Ayers is now going somewhere else on what seems to be a very reasonable deal after we had him in the building. Dave is a pretty good GM and it's obvious he knows we need to get better edge players since we've been going after them all free agency, so there has to be at least something cooking with trades because it makes zero sense otherwise.

It's Free Agency. You don't buy your team. We're filling needs because we can't fill them all with the draft, but stop acting like we should get every single player just because we have cap.

 

You've seen all the reports of whose spent the most in the last 10 years. Where we at because of it.

 

I wanted Ayers, but stop acting stupid. We need a veteran pass rusher, but there was legit 2 guys on market. There's 32 teams. Just because we have the most money doesn't mean everyone doesn't have plenty to spend. If we didn't feel comfortable going that much on Ayers, it shows what we thought of his season last year.

Figured Dave would do anything in his power to assure himself a job beyond this season. Instead he keeps [BAD WORD REMOVED] away opportunities.


I guess Skuta is going to be our pass rusher.

Aldon Smith, Jevon Kearse, Julius Peppers all had strong rookie seasons. We don't need that year one. We need a guy that can spell Fowler and get maybe 5-8 sacks. There are guys like that in this draft.


But I hear you. Always better to have a guy who has shown the ability before.
