Cant see the Pats trading Chandler Jones for a 2nd this year when they can keep him for a year then receive a 3rd round compensatory pick when he leaves during FA.

Quote:What about ex colt freeman? Think we could kick the tires there?

Dwight Freeney? I wouldn't be opposed to a one year deal if he was interested.

Worse comes to worse you rotate Skuta, Fowler, Davis and an early-round pick. Pass rush will be fine.

Jerrell Freeman I assume, which I don't think we need.

Upshaw really isn't much of a pass rusher, at least he hasn't been thus far. Would be a very stout run stopper though I think. Huge dude.

Yeah not the best rusher but he could man that otto spot and Skuta could be a leo.

IDK, I think Skuta could be a decent enough 2nd/3rd string LEO and solid depth. He was well liked in SF. He's a quality player, just needs to stay healthy.

No the linebacker.

I'd pass on Freeman.

I still say I would take Freeney for a year.

I guess all the pressure is on Fowler now to come out and play like Von Miller.

I doubt it.

Freeney is probably worth throwing a dart at.

Tweet from Mike Kaye (@mike_e_kaye) - Rob Ayers was offered a large role in the Bucs defense, per source. With Fowler coming back, Jags likely weren't as open to offer the same.

Tweet from Mike Kaye (@mike_e_kaye) - can't force Ayers to be here, why would he want to enter a rotation when he doesn't have to? #Jaguars https://twitter.com/gatorfan1953/status/708484523416272896

Mike Kaye hitting on what I thought happened with Ayers. He wanted to go somewhere to start not enter into a rotation. Can't blame him.

Sean Spence could be an interesting option at LB.

This is shaping up to leave us with QB's/Buckner/Spence/VH3 at 5....not too happy about it.

If it leads to a trade down for a team coming up for one of the QBs that may end up being our best option. Stack a couple of 2nd and 3rd round picks up and then we can really load up on defense. IMO the sweet spot in this draft isn't the top 10 or 15, it's going to be the 2nd and 3rd rounds.
