Make it all black and it will look much better. I don't mind it, but I'd prefer it to be all one color. Maybe a dark flat teal one? I think it needs an overhaul though.

It's a helmet.  Change the player inside the helmet if you want to make a meaningful change.

 

Also, I heard (don't know if true) that when they made the change, they are mandated by the league to stick with it at least 3 seasons.
