Ted Cruz Could Win the General Election

This thread is about our Cuban Canadian friend and his self serving actions.

Whether or not you agree with Obama care is irrelevant to the discussion. Plus I'm so tired of debating the merits of Obama care. The fact is, Medicare for all its what I think is the right policy for health care.

Unless your a doctor who has to run a practice on Medicare's non-negotiable rates.

Quote:1. Yes, Ted Cruz influenced the House. That's part of the reason why he's so hated now! I mean, seriously, this isn't ancient history. It happened only 3 years ago. You can google the timeline for yourself!

2. JJ is wrong... The one year delay was the 2nd attempt after the first attempt was rejected by the Senate (as everyone knew it would) and then sent back to the House.

Here's a link http://www.npr.org/sections/itsallpolitics/2013/10/16/235442199/how-we-got-here-a-shutdown-timeline

Yes. It was the offer on the table when thevdecision was made to shut down the government. In other words EXACTLY WHAT I SAID!!!

I still remember being stunned when the Democrats didn't go along with that proposal. After the initial attempt to repeal Obamacare I thought that the common sense compromise would have been a delay or an abolition of the individual mandate because it was something the right would feel comfortable with.

1. You're right you did say the 1 year delay was the final offer. It was Malabar that inferred from your post that the delay was the first offer. Thus proving that your writing is sometimes confusing and needs work. :-) Lol. Just kidding, my bad. I confused your post with Malabar's.

2. In Regards to your thoughts on how the democrats negotiated this shut down, I refer you to my parable about sushi.

Again my whole point is that lying Ted used an obvious non starter issue for the democrats as a slimey political ploy to get attention for a presidential run. And working class Americans got the shaft for his quixotic gesture. The dude is scum, and is clearly no friend to Americans.

The parable that i destroyed. You can't run on one thing bait-and-switch the American people and then have the audacity to say that your original position isn't reasonable.

Quote:Remember that lady that made California roll sushi that I demanded she throw away?

Originally, she was gonna make spicy tuna roll sushi, because that's her favorite. But must of the dinner guests preferred her to make California rolls. Except for me of course. I preferred she made nothing and I could stay home.

What a hypocrite she was for not throwing out the California rolls as I demanded! She didn't even want to make California rolls! She wanted the spicy tuna rolls in the first place.

See how dumb your deflection was, now? With all due respect, of course.

Lol, sorry jj, but I don't think so...

Quote:Loll. She said come to my house. I have spicy rolls. The lady across the street is serving California rolls. California rolls are ill conceived and insensitive to poor working families.

Then when the country showed up she served California rolls. She said "after further consideration California rolls are better for u"

They looked so bad that even her husband said they were terrible and wouldn't taste good.

Then the health inspector came by and tried to warn everyone they were spoiled made with 19th century rice and tried to stop people from eating them.

She complained that everyone would starve to death.

He finally said why don't u just make spicy tuna rolls and heroes some fresh rice. Now she says spicy tuna is inhumane!

Now that everyone is in the hospital with food poisoning she leads a campaign to decry the health inspector for draconian measures to try and save her guests that she herself poisoned.

In sorry.... Well not really.

dude... just wow. That is by far the worst analogy I've ever heard. And you lifted major parts of my parable.

Seriously, that was awefull...

Based on my observations, you have an inflated view of yourself, so I'll take that as concession to my point.

Your apology is accepted. But you're not getting back your coat.

Its not a deflection. Your position is that Ted Cruz is a narcissist because the demands he made were so unreasonable that they lead to *shock* a government shutdown *shock.*

I simply stated that in matter of fact that when it was understood that repeal wasnt going to get signed there was a good faith compromise put forth to delay the individual mandate and eliminate the medical device tax. Essentially adopting in whole the position of then senator barrack Obama when he ran for president and saving millions of working Americans from the most regressive form of taxation in the tax code!

The white house rejected there own past position. Why? Because they knew they would win the PR battle in a government shutdown and not have to make the concession.

Its the same reason they wrote in the obamacare donut hole (gap between Medicaid and exchange subsidies) and tried to ban subsidies from states that didn't expand Medicaid. They wanted to blackmail republican governors and say shut up and get in the Soviet VW bruh.

These people don't care about u. They care about power and getting what they want. Suffering of their supporters is subordinate to the "GREATER GOOD" of their egos.

Here's a link http://www.npr.org/sections/itsallpoliti...n-timeline

According to your link:

1.While Ted Cruz was part of the Heritage foundation presentation, jumping to the conclusion that he influenced the House is a reach. Lots of people lobbied for defunding Obamacare, and Cruz was a freshman senator. He had less influence in the House than just about every lobbyist in DC.

2. And the second House budget, which only included some delays that Obama eventually ended up instituting unilaterally, was in time to prevent a government shutdown but was rejected by the Harry Reid. Harry Reid is 100% responsible for the delay in salary of the government employees, and the loss of pay by contractor employees. He was the one who put his politicking ahead of the security of the government employees. Had he just passed the 2nd House bill everything would have ended up the same except there would have been no shutdown.

All that is in the link you provided.

I appreciate that you read the link. I think you have a better understanding of the history now. But what you are pointing out now are opinions based on the facts as are presented.

You're entitled do them, but I disagree.

First, it's not a stretch to consider Cruz as the guy that was ring leader for the shut down. If you google it, you'll find many articles from Politico, Salon, and the Wall Street Journal that use the term "architect" for the wall street shut down. Don't forget, Cruz has presented multiple cases in front of the US Supreme Court. Let's not pretend that just because he was a 1st term senator that he's some hayseed from Texas. This dude is slime. He pretends to be these things, but he's a snake.

As for your send point. Again, I disagree with your analysis of the facts and I'll refer you to my sushi parable. (I'm very proud of that parable, I think I'm gonna publish it on imgur or reddit or something).
