OSU Will not Suspend Players

#61

Quote:Bobby suspended his best player for a national championship game. I don't ever see Urban doing something to that degree.
Always hard to argue against the truth...but rest assured some on here will try!!!

Quote:There are quite a few extremely logical reasons, you just dont see them.

I think its completely illogical that you root for 16 different college football teams as well.

The only reason I see on  this board to hate the Buckeyes is their easy schedule. What are some reasons that actually make sense?

Urban Meyer did suspend Carlos Dunlap from the SEC Championship Game.

Who do you think you're kidding? Bowden did what he thought he could get away with. No surprise there, and not much different than most coaches.

Do you think Bowden thought he had a choice?

Don't go looking at college football coaches if you're looking for paragons of virtue. It's a tough business.

Didn't Tressel try to cover up and lie about the tattoos for memorabilia scandal?

Jaguars Woman how can you possibly think he was a good disciplinarian?

Before that scandal, he was a good disciplinarian. I was totally shocked he of all coaches would allow kids to play knowing they got tattoos for autographs. A good man made a big mistake.

I have not read this thread, so I apologize if this was mentioned, but how does the conference not suspend these players for the next game? They threw punches, the two ejected acted like it was a bar fight, and then gave the crowd the bird when exiting. How the school, or the conference doesn't do anything about that is a little crazy in my opinion.

Punks will be punks as long as there are no repercussions....way to raise the bar suckeyes....
If that RV sales place wants Tebow in Jax bad enough to take out a billboard saying as much.....they should just HIRE him.

Carlos Dunlap was not the best player on that Florida team.

I specifically looked for #79 to see what he was ejected for and did not see him punch anybody. And yes, I did see all of the replays, so I could not have missed it.

When has any player ever been suspended for flipping the bird? I had never heard of that happening anywhere or any rule that such gestures warrant a suspension.

Why isn't anyone talking about the ejected Wolverine? The guy who punched Donte Wilson was even worse because he took Wilson's helmet off, but nobody talks about the fact that Michigan is going to a bowl game and did not announce he will be suspended for it.

But he was a starter every week when healthy. If Brandon Spikes or Joe Haden did it, he would have been suspended.

You see no issue with a young man representing your university giving the bird to 100K plus people????????????? You have obviously the same association with ccommon sense that  "urban the wonderful has with class and character!!!

You missed him throwing haymakers, huh? LOL....you may be the only one.  It was in the corner of the screen.

The kid represents the school.  He just got kicked out of the game for throwing some punches and he leaves gracefully by throwing the bird to a whole stadium.  Where do you not see this as not a big deal?  A suspension is the only thing college football has to teach kids a lesson.

Nobody is talking about Michigan because its over shadowed by the OSU players who are going to a national title.  Not one person here has said that he shouldnt get a suspension either.

I said I don't know of any NCAA or Big Ten rule stating such gestures warrant a suspension while explaining why it will not affect his eligibility to play against MSU. That is a fact, not an opinion. Do you not understand it is OK to base my opinion on a fact?

There are a lot of things that are not specifically mentioned in rules that could and should draw a suspension. Throwing a punch and then flicking off over 100k (and lets not forget the entire viewing audience....) fans, in my opinion, merits a suspension.

The Big Ten or Twelve or whatever it calls itself now did NOT ban the Ohio State players...either.

Nobody held a 9mm to the head of the Ohio State starter and forced him to flip the Michigan crowd off.

What kind of message are they trying to send?

And neither of the mentioned tOSU players are the best on their team. It not like it was Miller or Hyde, then you might have a case about Meyer not wanting to suspend his best players, except wait a minute.. Hyde did get suspended earlier this season.

The vendetta that most have on here against tOSU is becoming sickening. From now on only SEC teams and Florida State should ever be allowed to play bowl games, that will make you happy, right?

Because the criminoles have never done anything that raised an eyebrow, right?
