With Demarcus Lawrence now being suspended on top of losing Hardy and the Gregory suspension, I see Dallas taking either Buckner or Bosa.

And SD needs help all over, I think they're more likely to take Tunsil to protect Rivera for a few years though. IMO. But it wouldn't surprise me if they took any of Tunsil, Bosa, Ramsey, Buckner.

Ramsey, Clark, and Jones would be a nice haul. I know some would rip Dave for not getting a DE, which is reasonable, but I like that value across the board very much.

I stopped reading when they mocked a RB with the 4th pick.

Todd McShay and Louis Riddick are saying the same thing

You must stop reading a lot of mocks then.......

No way SD is taking a RB with Tunsil sitting there with their horrible O-line. Just not happening. He will go around 8 if he is lucky, and that is still too high for a RB.

So you can't read? Because the mock has Elliot going 4 to the Cowboys

Ive been saying Dallas is going to take Elliott for a while. Before these so called experts.

Seems like a good fit to me. They need to cash in while Romo is still capable at playing at a high level.

Yes I can read. I had SD picking 4th in my head for some reason. My bad.

Jack, Nkemdiche, Redmond would be my choices. Possibly Ogbah in the 2nd.

It's worth noting that SDs line was bad last season because they were channeling the 2008 Jaguars. Apparently, there is a good bit of talent on their line in terms of starters but injuries turned that into a 5-man turnstile pretty quickly.

KYJaggy,

I agree that would be a nice haul and that Caldwell would get ripped for no DE at that stage.

To a large extent I could understand him getting ripped under those circumstances.  However, given the tremendous quality and depth of the DT, it would be unwise to not capitalize on it to some degree.  Besides, we were 15th against the run last year.  Not bad, but not perfect, either.  We had lapses when Poz was out, but I think some of that had to do with injuries/performance with the DTs.  Besides, I'm ready for the team to dump Alualu.  He may be gone even without the team taking another DT.

If the first two rounds somehow unfolded like that, I certainly wouldn't mind either trading up into the bottom of the second to guarantee a guy like Calhoun or Nassib.

Rather than trading up to the bottom of the 2nd, I would want the Jaguars to trade up to the top of the 2nd and take Dodd. I believe he has the potential to be very good, while Nassib and Calhoun do not. I'm a Penn State grad and loved the way Nassib played last year, but I don't see him making it in the NFL. Calhoun has been compared to Branch- enough said. Getting Ramsay, Dodd and Jones would be a great draft. They could probably part with their 4th to move up in the 2nd.

Heh, Dodd and Nassib are my two do not touch DEs in that day 2 possibility range.

What weaknesses do you see in them?

I think Dodd would be GREAT value for us in the 2nd...and I actually think he will be off the board in the mid to late first.

First off, they are both really bad athletes. Nassib being a 30th and Dodd being a 20th percentile athlete. Nassib's lack of ability to do anything that requires change of direction in particular jumps off the screen. Hand usage only gets you so far in the NFL.

I don't like that Dodd had zero career production until literally the final 5 games of his career, Nassib being a one year wonder doesn't bother me as much but it's a bit of a red flag.

Lastly, I really don't like Dodd's age. He was older and more physically advanced than anyone he faced, and yet he still didn't do anything until the final handful of games of his career. His age would also imply that he likely doesn't have much room for growth. And if he does beat my expectations and produce well, then we'll be dealing with a Josh Norman situation where second contract time rolls around and the guy is already at his peak and most of the 2nd deal will be on the downslide. Pass.

Kiper and McShay's dueling draft thing they did tonight had us taking Jack, Vernon Butler, and then Westerman. That too would be an awesome first two days.
