Irate beaver 'takes man hostage' A rogue beaver struck terror into the heart of a man making his way home late at night in the Latvian city of Daugavpils, according to a local newspaper report picked up by Latvian Public Broadcasting. The man, identified only as Sergei, says the beaver ran out of some bushes and suddenly bit him. He fell over as he tried to fight the rodent off and was bitten again as he tried to get up. http://www.foxnews.com/science/2016/04/2...ntcmp=hpff ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. A family of beavers made their lodge on our pond, pictured below. Beavers are smart. They built a dam on the opposite side of the pond from their lodge, damming the spill and causing the water level to rise. This allows them access to their lodge from underneath, providing protection.

I've had kayakers get attacked by beavers before.
Always have to hold in a bit of a chuckle. |
