I agree and I wouldn't hate Buckner pick but would still prefer Jack or Trade down if Jack isn't available!

I really don't understand the Buckner people coming out of the woodwork a few days before the draft? What has changed? This pick has likely been decided by Caldwell for weeks and now you're changing your mind based on what? Because we've over-analyzed everyone else and he's the last one we haven't?

The Jaguars ranked 25th in the NFL at defending opponents’ No. 1 receivers last year, according to Football Outsiders. They ranked 24th against No. 2 receivers, 26th against other receivers and 28th against tight ends.

The Jaguars will be drafting DBs in the top rounds (IMO) and DL/LBs in the later rounds.

I think it is because of the comments Johnny O made about Buckner... but as others pointed out he was saying the same thing about Leonard WIlliams last year whom the Jaguars had passed over...

Buckner is a great athlete and I would be fine with them drafting him too, but with Malik Jackson, Marks, Roy Miller, Odrick DT isnt as huge of a need as DB/LB or DE is for the team.  Heck LT too..

Charlie Campbell has us taking Bosa now

From what I've heard from sources, Jacksonville would be happy with either Bosa or Myles Jack. If both are available, the Jaguars would go with Bosa because they want to improve their pass rush and value an edge rusher over a linebacker.

After missing the 2015 season opener with a suspension because he refused to take a drug test, Bosa totaled 51 tackles with 16 for a loss and five sacks on the year. While he didn't play poorly, he wasn't as tenacious as he was in 2014, despite seeing some single-block pass-rushing opportunities. Bosa looked better as a run defender. He achieved pressure on the quarterback, but wasn't prolific in the pass rush. Sources say that Bosa is like another Ryan Kerrigan for the NFL and the media has overhyped him. However unlike Kerrigan, teams have some minor off-the-field concerns with Bosa such as being a partier and liking to go to raves.

During 2014, Bosa recorded 55 tackles with 13.5 sacks, 21 tackles for a loss, four forced fumbles and a pass defended. He simply lived in opponents' backfields. The 6-foot-5, 269-pounder has some speed to go with natural strength. He possesses a burst off the snap and can turn the corner, but isn't a true speed demon off the edge. As a sophomore, Bosa also showed good hands to shed blocks while working upfield. He racked up 44 tackles with 13.5 tackles for a loss, 7.5 sacks and one forced fumble that season.

Bosa will be too slow to get off the ball and get to the QB in the NFL unless he can improve his speed and actual awareness to when the ball is snapped. I watched the guy last year a few games, and he always seemed to be the last one breaking out of his stance after the snap for some reason. He usually made up for it with his strength, but that won't work in the NFL.

I think Bosa is gonna be a bust tbh. Maybe not a total Bjoern Werner like bust, but I don't think he'll end up being worth a top 5 pick.

Charlie's word has been law the past couple years. This makes me think Bosa is the guy. I had a feeling when I watched the draft interviews and Bosa had on the Jags hoodie this would happen.

Eh, he's not that great.

2015: Dante Fowler Jr.

2014: Khalil Mack

2013: Dion Jordan

2012: Melvin Ingram

I have to admit that Bosa video on the Jags website turned me off on him. I don't expect these guys to be scholars but sheesh, he seemed like he wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed.

Please. Why? Because he's white? Both of those guys you mention have elite explosion off the snap to go with their power. I don't think Bosa will come anywhere near those guys' level of production.

Been wrong before though, well see.

Yeah, cus, he's a whiteboy, with slow twitch muscles, but he's got a high motor and good technique.

I can agree with that. JJ certainly wasn't what he is now straight outta college so anythings possible. I just am one to think that elite athletic traits are something that should be required of a top 5 pick unless it's a QB.

I recall JJ's combine stats being way better than everyone else in his position group.

I was talking more along the lines of Watt's production straight out of college. He didn't turn into a monster over night, he developed quickly. Bosa could get to the NFL and develop another level of play, like Watt, but I don't see it happening because Bosa lacks what you just mentioned, elite physical traits.

To be fair Watt was a TE so he was gonna be way more athletic then any other DL, the question was could he develop into a great DL guy.

He only spent 1 year at Central Michigan as a TE then went on to Wisconsin to play as a DE for 2009 and 2010.

Quote:I have always had this off feeling about Myles Jack, I don't know if its his knee surgery or the fact that he seems so over hyped... but something simply tells me he's not the guy to draft..

I guess that is why I dont get paid big bucks.. but if i was the GM I would stick with my original gut feeling and draft Jalen Ramsey (Despite the Free Agency signing of TaShaun.. I simply would try him at corner - Jalen that is)...

Maybe I should apply for a job huh?
