To be perfectly honest, and it will never happen....if he was there when the Jags were picking and they didnt take him, I would expect some backlash.

 

May not be on the Tebow level, but it would be heavy handed.

 

Oh hold on, are you saying if Jameis was there?  If he plays like he did this year and even improves upon this season then yes, I would want to draft him.  I think most Jag fans would want him.  That wasn't the case with tebow.  People didn't care if he was good at football or not, they just wanted us to draft tebow regardless.  It wouldn't be heavy handed from FSU fans, not anything close to tebow.  I think Jag fans would be upset if we didn't get him whether they were FSU fans or gator fans especially if the QB need still exists.  But it also depends on who comes out next year, etc...  But that has more to do with him being a good QB then it does wanting the guy because he works hard and is a christian.

 

On a side note, I was heavily against us drafting EJ Manuel.  Again, I can separate college from pros.

 

And on a side, side note, if we don't draft him then I'll accept it.  

 

And on a side, side, side note, Jameis actually translates well to in NFL QB and will arguably be the best NFL prospect in the draft which couldn't be said about tebow when he was drafted.

Didn't down play it at all. There were huge numbers of Gators who pushed Tebow. I have readily admitted that. I can do that.

 

There was a far greater numbers of non Gator fans who pushed him just as hard if not harder. It gave some who had no allegiance to a team or a game something to cheer about. Evidenced by the media push nationally. Again, either Gator Nation is that large, or....
