Draft Day 2

Quote:That's a good quesiton, I couldn't find anything on whether we worked him out or not. What about that Ogbah kid? Anyone have an opinion one way or another on him?

Every draft preview show bashed him for not being very good. They referred to him as a leaner (leans up against OTs vs having an array of moves).

I think Dodd and spence are much better options for pass rush.

I wouldn't even be mad if it went down like this.

The more I look into it, he's not that far behind Leanard Floyd who was the first LB taken off the board in the 1st round..

Most of the LBers this draft ran in the 4.5 to 4.7 range.   Lee was the exception blowing the doors out at 4.4...  If you look at the range of times...  Ragland was in the top 3rd of LBers...

As another comparison...  Telvin Smith Ran a 4.52...

Worst point on draft weekend right here. I'm over the excitement of our first round pick and the tiredness has kicked in real bad (I managed to get 2 segments of 2 hours sleep last night). Will head to bed for more sleep once we've put the kids to bed ready for round 2.

Thanks man.  I like Dodd too...  Dodd doesn't appear to be a speed rusher which is the downside on him.  But he's a beast...

I hear you as I'm from Italy and it's been a tough day although happy about the pick.

What made it difficult was the hope that we'd have traded back into first round that made me stay awake LOL, those 3 additional hours would have been great for some sleep.

I'll try to stay up until our 3rd round pick today but it'll be hard as I haven't had much rest throughout the day and won't have as I'm heading out soon.

But it was worth it, it was great last night Smile

That's the fun part of the draft though, you don't know who is going to trade up or down so you can't just stick around for the Jags pick.

And in fairness... the rest of the draft was pretty entertaining w/ the trades and surprise picks as well!

OK, so I'm watching NFLN, mayock was just on...  He was saying a team like the t :yucky: acks or the patriots who have multiple 2nd round picks would be the best place of Miles Jack to land.

The way Mayock was talking was that he figured Jack would sit out the 2016 season...

Yes that's the entertaining part, if only it wasn't at 4.00-5.00 am it would have been even better for us Tongue

Anyone else notice that not one of the so called experts were right on any pick with the exception of the most obvious ones, I mean there's run off like ten players that should be the pick and still be completely wrong, these guys get paid big money for nothing, I think a blind guy with a dart board of pictures could have done as good a job

Dodd isn't a good enough athlete for me to take him at 38 in my opinion.

Yeah spider charts are bad blah blah blah but athletic ability matters for pass rushers.

Eventually the talent will be a value but not at 38 for me.

Quote:Yall tripping with this Ragland stuff. The dude is an old time LB. We got that in Poz.

You don't think it would be nice to upgrade the Mike this year? The guys behind Poz are nobodies and he is not getting any younger.

Quote:Lil mock Round 2:

Browns: Derrick Henry HB

Titans - Ashawn Robinson DT

Cowboys - Mackensie Alexander CB

Chargers - Jason Spriggs OT

Ravens - Reggie Ragland LB

49ers - Connor Cook QB

Jags - Myles Jack? Nick Martin? Noah Spence?

When posting in this thread early this morning,  I inadvertently overlooked that Jason Spriggs was still available when reflecting on the limited remaining limited options at Offensive Tackle.   Though the Jaguars probably won't be the team that lands Spriggs,  it would benefit the Jaguars if he went before pick # 38.   The Chargers drafting Spriggs or LeRaven Clark would make sense for them from a long term need standpoint.     I'm far from certain that either player will be ready to be effective starters at LT as rookies.

70% of the time, defenses are in a nickel based formation. 2 down LBs are a thing of the past. You need LBs who can cover TEs and Ragland can't cover.
