Reggie Ragland

Any thoughts on Ragland?  Any Bama fans or SEC fans that are familiar with his impact outside of youtube highlights?  He kind of looks like a bigger Telvin Smith and is quick with his lateral and vertical cuts.

He's old school but that's not a good thing.

Ragland is fast enough. It is his intelligence and instincts that make him so good.

More of a 3-4 inside backer right?

Edit OTTO maybe?

Also has to be noted about the Dline he played with at Alabama.Teams could do nothing against them.

This is my concern. We need a LB who can cover. I'm not sure that's him, but then again I haven't watched him much

He ran a 4.7 40...  Which was faster than Scooby Wright's 4.9 40...

The concern I read on nfl.com is that he needs to learn better angles...  I like the idea of an "old school" middle linebacker to replace our old school MLB when we lose Poz.  The scouting report is that he's good in zone coverage too...  Which we play alot of here...  It might be a good pick.

It might be the safe pick as opposed to taking a chance on Miles Jack's knee.

And Wright is probably a late round/UDFA.

I agree with you, we need a LB who can cover well, Jack would have been perfect for this team (not complaining with the Ramsey pick of course but Jack would have been the perfect need meets talent pick if he was healthy).

I like Poz but he's a big liability in coverage, I even liked Tripp more than him in coverage when he played against Indy last year

People sleeping on Scooby. He can rush the passer too. I would be happy with Brothers in the 3rd

Oh dear.  There are some mock drafts having us pick him up in the 3rd round!

Well, I still like him.  I think people would like to see him run a 4.5 or 4.4...  But but what's .1 second for a ILB, honestly?

4.72 ain't great, but that's still pretty good for a true mike backer and he might be able to stay on for third down with good awareness.

His 40 time is the same as Poz I would pass.

Don't believe that is correct. Pretty sure most have said this has no affect on his career, he just needs to monitor it once a year.

That would be correct.

Medical concerns wouldn't be why I wouldn't select him in round 2.

It's not something that has to be treated just monitored.

I saw a post on Twitter last night saying he's old school and that's not a good thing.
