I never understood the knock on short DT's. Playing with good leverage is one of the more important things and being low obviously helps that. Maybe they can't bat passes down as well as tall DT's?


I'll take Day and his non-stop motor, although it was a downer to see Perry scooped right before us.

Arm length is a big part of leverage. Short Dts have shorter arms usually hence the knock.

I think he'll factor into the rotation on passing downs. All the scouting reports says he's weak against the run.

I think that's exactly it...  The proto type for DTs are tall guys, look at Stroud and Hendersen...  But Day may be someone that comes in and out of our rotation and really can get after the QB, which will be pretty sweet.

Westerman's got concerns about his strength and physicality. Definitely hurting him, because not too many teams run a system that supports a technique center with little push.
