Daniel Jeremiah Interview With Jack and Ramsey

Quote:You guys are seriously overrating Telvin's coverage skills simply because he's fast.

I pointed out early last season that Telvin was not as good a coverage linebacker as people made him out to be.

That said, he is better than Poz.

Are we forgetting Telvin was a 2nd year player who was a 5th round draft pick?

How good are people expecting him to be already? Telvin is good in coverage and still has room to grow.

Quote:There really isn't a better guy for myles jack to learn from than poz. That's a huge asset for him.

If you're a Jaguars fan and you aren't excited for this upcoming season then you might have something seriously wrong with you.

It's gonna be fun.

I hope Poz is not teaching him how to cover Tight Ends.

Lol, Poz don't know how to teach that.  Poz need to teach Cyp how to take angles and tackle.

Yep you guys are seriously overestimating Telvin's coverage abilities.

Poz struggles covering deeper drops (because of lack of athleticism), but he recognizes plays better than Telvin.

Jerry Sullivan must suck at coaching with your logic.

Physical limitations have nothing to do with how good of a teacher or how high of a football IQ someone has.

Your barbs are really hackneyed and tiresome at this point. Get some new schtick. You're turning into the new TMD.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

As maligned as Poz is for his man coverage skills, he seems adept at dropping into zone, and has made the occasional big play in zone (think the pick 6 vs. Manning in Denver).

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

If Poz is your third best lb in coverage, you are in good shape. Especially considering that you will only line up with 3 linebackers ~50% of the time.
Respect the game.  Play with a sense of urgency.

1.)  Take care of the ball.  Win the turnover battle.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.

Learn from the great collapse of 2023.

Unless he dramatically improved this offseason, Telvin should never cover anthing else than the flats. Posluszny is much more aware in zone coverage.

Have Cyp play LB on third down and put Sample in at Saftey? Just throwing ideas out there

So he will have less time to take his already bad angles ?
