Quote:If it's really about Memorial Day, shouldn't you be complaining about them not taking advantage of the offer that person made to pay for a new memorial and not about Political Correctness?? Sigh... I guess you as well as many others just don't get it. The memorial was taken down precisely because of PC. Quote:I actually do know the difference. But let's not act like both aren't symbols of Christianity. Not true, and like I offered Bchbunnie4, I am open to discussing via PM. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. The dude with a cross already has two Memorial Days.

What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???
It seems that common sense prevailed in this case.

This country needs better things to whine about. How's paying down that debt to China going?

Cross memorial for fallen veterans back up after public outcry
A Memorial Day cross display honoring fallen soldiers is back up Wednesday along a state highway in Georgia, after it was taken down last week amid controversy. The 79 white, handmade crosses posted on public property along state Highway 92 in Hiram, Ga., were meant to represent the 79 Paulding County residents who died in America’s wars, according to town officials. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/05/25/cro...cmp=hplnws ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:Cross memorial for fallen veterans back up after public outcry Now I would see that and think it was in memorial to the victims of abortion in that community. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
It's back up? Oh no. This is such a terrible thing to happen. Please somebody call up and be very very angry about it.
What I'm still not getting here is the "offended" aspect of the story. A resident of the town called in and asked if the people buried beneath crosses were all Christians. The fact that that person is constantly referred to as "an unnamed resident" underscores that the local government knew who they were and chose to let them remain anonymous. No one that I saw said anything about that person, who offered to make a donation towards a permanent memorial, being particularly offended by the display.
This whole thing was, as most outages from the left and right are these days, an idiotic waste of time. Want to know why this country is in trouble? It's because we're all looking for the next trigger to offend ourselves with.

And what about these guys? And the satanists? Oh, so many different ....who died for one cause

Our country is in trouble, but not because of these frivolous stories that pop up daily. Quote:Haha, alright. Let's get serious. Our country is in trouble, but not because of these frivolous stories that pop up daily. You're right. It's because the people that create these stories currently control the news, which radicalizes formerly sensible people like JIB and contributes to the rise of extreme politicians like Sanders and Trump who are more likely to trash the economy or start a bunch of wars than accomplish anything meaningful. And no, that's not an endorsement of Clinton. She's as bad as the other two, just not quite as dangerous.
