As an aside...

Tweet from Ryan O'Halloran (@ryanohalloran) - #jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey strolled through locker room and has already shed crutches.

So, where are the experts now saying he is done for months?

You know who you are. You panty wasted 31 pages of this forum. The guy is already walking on his own power the week after the surgery. I seem to recall saying that the timeline would be exactly that. Come on doom and gloomers, what say you now?

Morons.......

Don't worry some will find the perfect thing like not seeing him participate in certain DB drills come TC to gripe about.

A week after a meniscus trim he should be walking on his own. In fact, he probably didn't the crutches after a day or two. I had the same procedure done on a severe meniscus tear and was able to walk the next day. Arthroscopic recovery is pretty simple.

IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

No doubt, they're just polishing up the old pitchforks for training camp.

yeah if he was still using crutches I would be shocked.

now if he had a meniscal REPAIR, he would be on 2 crutches for multiple weeks, non-weightbearing on the injured side, and he would only after that slowly wean off the crutches.

Quote:First-round draft pick Jalen Ramsey is “doing great right now and will be 100% ready for camp,” Jacksonville Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell said Thursday.

And the team has no long-term concerns related to last week’s minor knee surgery, either.

“Zero,” Caldwell told USA TODAY Sports. “Even Dr. (James) Andrews said this little meniscus deal, it won’t affect him at all, considering the part of the knee it was in and how small (the tear) was.”....

“He did have a procedure in high school when he was 15, and it healed,” Caldwell said. “His MRI was very good at the combine. There were no issues with that.”

I think most people were upset that our star draft pick was hurt and were hoping it wasn't the worst case scenario. Nobody was saying he was for sure done for the year. You are a clown.

!.  Did you have any idea where on his meniscus the tear took place at the time the injury was announced?

2.  Without that knowledge, how could you dismiss the possibility that he would be out for months out of anything other than ignorance and optimism?  Without that knowledge of how the knee was torn, how could you distinguish between Ramsey's injury, whom you speculated will keep him out almost no time, vs. Myles Jack's meniscus injury, which kept him out for months?!?

Even two local physicians-Steven Lucie and Kevin Murphy-said a months long recovery from this injury was possible, even if less of a likelihood than the shorter recovery.

Additionally, even though his injury was not worst case scenario, his recovery is still in excess of a month.

Of all the things on a message board to thump your chest over, you seriously chose this?!?

We're all Jaguars fans, relieved that our first round pick will be playing for us this year.

Let's leave it at that.

Notice how the people claiming the sky was falling have all posted on this page trying to defend themselves. Again, they always point themselves out without even having to say their name Smile

I notice how the pie in the sky optimists don't answer substantive questions on the matter on how they knew what the end result would be without knowing where the tear took place.

But let's assume for argument's sake you guys were absolutely right and had all of the factual and medical basis at your disposal the minute the injury was announced. (as a side note, it's interesting Ramsey himself-you know, the guy who actually suffered the injury-was uncertain enough about the prognosis to get a second opinion even after it was initially announced)

It would seem the chicken little-sky is falling-bibber-self soiling-nattering nabobs crowd has had the pessimism surrounding the team justified by the end results more than pie in the sky optimists have over the past few years-if we are looking solely at end results here.

Again, I don't see the point of chest thumping here.

I know right? It's hilarious. "Oh I mean I was just overreacting based on another first rounder hurt this early". Haha. Yeah right! You can just read the thread and see all the "Sky fallers" posts.

Those trolls tho....

So basically, you're saying that there are more glass half empties around here than glass half fulls? We already knew that.

The Negative Nancy Brigade has been growing in numbers recently.

No. that's NOT what I am saying.

What I am saying is that based strictly upon the bottom line results over the past nine or so seasons without delving more into the particulars, the pessimists/bibbers, et al have been right far more than the pie in the sky optimists.

I'm also saying that thumping your chest because a player of ours is only going to be out 6 weeks instead of several months when NOBODY was rooting for the worst case scenario is patently silly, especially when the overwhelming majority of participants in the discussion do NOT have medical degrees and did not know the exact size and location of Ramsey's injury.

There are plenty of appropriate opportunities to prove a poster/group of posters wrong in a message board debate and to say I told you so after the fact.
