Bye Bye Teddy Bridgewater

Still games left guys. Look at the recent turn around we had. There is nothing to say the Texans can't do the same thing. I can see Fisher trading down for more picks..so that worries me. The Skins need to pick it up and win a few more games. Cleveland has ammo to move up in the draft. How they fleeced the Colts for a first rounder was a classic and I love it but not if they move ahead of us

Quote:Glad you created a thread to talk about whats being talked about in 20 other threads. I hope someone creates a thread asking how we feel about losing the number one pick...that would be refreshing around here! :whistling:
What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???
Quote:I'll bet you started a similar thread last year whining about the Jags not giving Gabbert unlimited opportunities. Fixed

Once again Teddy is not a once in a generation QB and is not a lock at going number 1, most scouts say he will most likely go from 4-8, so no we didnt lose him, plz stop this crap.
Remember last year when no QB went until late in the 1st round?

Who are "most scouts"? Peter King says he's the number-one pick right now, and no NFL sports writer is better connected than him. Every mock draft I've seen for months has Bridgewater going first. That doesn't mean it's guaranteed to happen, but there is no momentum so far for it not happening. Remember last year when there was no QB was nearly as good of a prospect as Teddy Bridgewater? Yeah, me too.
Mixed feelings about this one. I'm not as sold on this Quarterback class as much as everyone else is -- but ultimately it's what Caldwell is sold on.
Teddy's draft stock may drop though, and we could end up in range. If that's who Caldwell feels is the best QB to take -- he could always trade up. Best case scenario... Texans start winning games with Wade Phillips as their coach, and decide to keep him on as the Head Coach. Then they're stuck with Wade, and they don't draft 1st. Chances of trading up with the Texans are pretty nil though. If Caldwell doesn't feel Teddy is worth extra draft picks, then I doubt he'll trade up for him no matter who's up there. This team really does have terrible luck with QB's though. No great Quarterbacks came out the one year we'd draft in the Top 2. Thankfully Caldwell passed on him, but eventually we have to get a QB. It'll suck if like with Gene Smith, Caldwell never has a real opportunity to get a great QB. (yes, he had an opportunity for Russell Wilson, but that's expecting too much). I just hope if Bridgewater pans out, he doesn't end up a Texan.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
Dude's stock is plummeting and you guys still think he's the top prospect...lol.

He has a face only a mother could love.

Quote:Think Boyd ends up being our qb. If that happens we might as well just put the 3rd place sign up for next decade. I don't think Boyd is leading the Jags past the Bridgewater Texans or Luck Colts.

Uhmmm.....have you ever seen Andrew Luck??? He looks like Broccoli-head. I don't think the Colts are regretting drafting that face only his mother could love.... You could put Andrew Luck without makeup in one of those Geico commercials with the caveman and no one would notice the difference.

Boyd will be a solid NFL QB and something tells me the Texans will be the Texans and hilariously waste the pick on Johnny Manziel simply because he's a Texas guy.
LEONARD FOURNETTE FAN CLUB PRESIDENT. I WAS BEHIND HIM WHEN YOU ALL SAID HE WAS BRANDON JACOBS. QUIT HATING ON THE JAGUARS. GUS IS GONE. COUGHLIN HAS RESTORED ORDER. FOURNETTE IS FRED TAYLOR. DONT BELIEVE ME JUST WATCH.

I doubt it, They had the chance to do that same scenario in 2006 with Vince Young and did not. Oh, and Boyd might be a "solid" NFL QB....we're going to need better than a "solid" NFL QB to consistently finish higher than the Bridgewater Texans/ Luck-y Colts. Luck will be the best qb in the division but I rally question whether their gm can put enough talent around him to make that team a consistent winner. Gotta wait and see what Houston does.
Still not sure I understand all the Geno comparison. At this time last year, Geno and his team had that major meltdown, while Louisville record is 11-1. One ran a spread offense and the other a pro-style offense; one was no longer in the conversation as a top 10 pick and was criticized (with the exception of maybe a few fans), while the other one is still very much in the running as the first overall pick.
