The Ohio State University is the name of the school. What more is there for you to debate?

 

LOL, the school has been in existance since the 1800's and they started using "the" in 1986.  So it took them almost 100 years to start using it?

 

Apparently a president at one time really started pushing the, he was popular with students, and football players started using it on MNF.....thats when it really caught on with the public.  From what I can figure, it was said in response to Miami athletes saying The University of Miami or The U.....

I'm not trying to spin it anyway.  If it was apart of the official name in the 1800's and not used until the 1980's and more main stream in the 90's and after.....its kind of weird why it would pick up steam other than to try to differentiate yourself and puff yourselves up.

I'm aware of that. We, however, have destroyed every team in our path. Ohio State, on the other hand, has struggled with Northwestern, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michgian. That's a weak slate there, and they still struggled.

A win is a win is a win. Is the Jaguars win against Houston any less of a win because it wasn't a blowout?


Style points only matter for voting reasons, and it doesn't seem to make a big difference being that were #2. Next year it won't matter anyway, style points won't hold the same clout leading up to the playoff.

This is one reason I prefer the NFL: no voting, just playing, determines who plays more than 16 games. You are right that our win last night carries the same weight as Carolina's win over the Giants.

I agree with you but I always try and consider match-ups.  With that said should both teams take care of business next week I think FSU by 2 scores over OSU
