Why Won't Trump Release His Tax Returns?

#41

Quote:i dont know what fires you are referring to.  ive seen nothing that is anywhere near damning enough to sway voters' opinions.  there is nothing he can say or do to make somebody like you and others calling for his returns to vote his way.

like i said, there is no helping you. ship sailed.

Trump hasn't even started preparing his tax return.  He's still trying to figure out how to fit those huge numbers on the page.  But it's gonna be a great tax return.  The best.

Quote:that's an interesting translation of what i said.

the point is he stands nothing to gain from making his tax returns public

Except revealing the truth....oh wait.

Your logic is that a candidate---a willing candidate who chose to run, that it is OK with you, just Okey-doke, that they not comply with standard practice in being transparent with their finances.

What they make, how much they pay in taxes, whether they are lying as to all of the above, whether they contribute to charity and the less fortunate......

It's just ok with you, to not know whether they are LYING TO YOUR FACE.

Today he just compared his "sacrifice" to that of a man losing his war hero son.

God, what a Phony.

That's  your guy.   That's the team you are choosing to support.

He only hires the best, you know, hand-picked people, to do his tax returns.

Just like the instructors at ol' Trump U.

Those hand-picked people who had no experience or education in the field.

Hard to fathom why they just couldn't "make it in the world of success,"  whatever that is.

I have a problem with this being a "standard practice." Tax returns are an abomination to begin with. Ideally the government shouldn't be collecting personal information about citizens without a warrant.
Have you as a lawyer ever advised a client to release his tax returns to the public?

It's Trump's call as to whether or not he releases personal information. People are free to speculate what's being hidden. I'd guess Trump's tax returns are far less incriminating than the 30K E-mails Hillary destroyed before the FBI could read them, or even Obama's college transcripts.

I think Trump should just release a 2-page letter from his accountant, saying Trump's finances are in great shape.

That's essentially what Hillary did instead of releasing her health records.  She released a 2-page letter from her doc saying everything's fine.

Or just release nothing and keep the 10 people who actually care in suspense.

Exactly.  The tax return can be their Building 7.

I'm not being phony at all.  What exactly do liberals expect from Trump's tax return?

The same thing conservatives expected from Obama's long-form birth certificate, I guess?

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

One precludes you from office, the other does not.

You're thinking about transcripts.

What i expect is that he is hiding them for a reason.

I think anyone with a brain knows this.

The man is superficial in any manner, and shallow to boot.

I think we eventually will find he's worth even less than the amount he has lied about.  Suddenly the 10 bill has become 5 bill, and we may find he had debt from some very interesting places.

That's a start.

Forbes had him at 4.5 billion last year.

Apparently the annual Forbes 400 list is a bone of contention for Trump, who always thinks they undervalue his net worth.

“I’m running for President,” says Trump. “I’m worth much more than you have me down [for]. I don’t look good, to be honest. I mean, I look better if I’m worth $10 billion than if I’m worth $4 billion.”

I think Mark Cuban is correct. He doesn't want people to know he makes far less than he leads people to believe and his liquid assets would be consumed by banks. While most normal people would be satisfied, Donald only cares about appearance. He is a brand and thats all.

Mark Cuban is extra salty because he realized too late that HE could have been the self funded billionaire running for president.

This is the same Mark Cuban who berated refs as an NBA owner from the front row and also strong arms entrepreneurs to accept his offer before listening to others. Wonderful traits.

Cuban is a hot head in Hillary's pocket.
