Victor Cruz visiting Jags

#21

Quote:Meh.  This is probably more of a courtesy because he was one of TC's guys.

Agree.

Reminds me of Lee Evans being in camp with Mularkey and the Jags in 2012. He did not even survive final cuts.

I didn't see anything from Cruz last year that would lead me to believe he would bring much value to one of the few positions where the team is staffed well.

Quote:I certainly do. They are not keeping AR15 unless he proves it. So makes perfect sense.
Caldwell has said they are trying to extend him many times.

I can the final six WRs being...

  1. ARob

  2. Hurns

  3. Lee

  4. Dede

  5. Cruz

  6. K. Walker III

In this scenario I have Walker being out Benn and Cruz beating out Walters.

Why the undrafted Walker? Well, from everything I've read the guy can run. By that, not only does the former track star have world class speed, but he knows routes and can consisently get himself open. The only question I have with Walker is his hands, but I'm trusting he'll catch the ball. As long as KWIII catches most of the passes thrown his way, I'm in his corner. ...even over my other guy Arrelious.

So he has speed, knows routes, and can consistently get open...yet he went undrafted.

Holt only got 3.5 mil of his 20 mil and really wasn't that aweful. The rest were garbage.

Doesn't hurt to look. Next year's off season could be very interesting at the WR position. We may not be able to retain Robinson and Lee but you'd think one of them gets tagged depending on who produces the most or has the most impact. That's why Westbrook was nabbed. Hoping Hurns can stay healthy this year and return to form as well.

So they are putting best effort to extend him based on this. And he or his agent keeps declining. That would make a lot of sense then.

If he don't want to play here. Then I can see DEDE getting more reps. And makes sense at that pick. And same with Cruz.

You're leaving out Walters.

Nah... Cruz is only making the roster if he beats out Walters. It's one or the other. They play the same position.

He is unsigned.  Was rumored to have visits lined up with three teams. Very slim chance he gets an offer from the Jags IMO.
