Ode to "Let's talk about"

Quote:Why was the suspension/ban thread locked?

I'm guessing due to the bad words that aren't bad words but really are bad words elsewhere that they apparently added to the filter and the bickering.

Because we have too many threads for whining already?

What's stopping a hockey team hiring an 800 pound behemoth to play in goal for them? I mean like one of those massively obese guys who cover every inch of available space? You'd imagine more would try it as it would basically render your team unbeatable.

NHL goals are 6 ft wide and 4 ft tall. That's one HEFTY guy. Not sure how a guy like that could have on skates and not hurt himself. Besides, if they ever had to pull the goalie, they'd need the zamboni.

Yeah he would have to be a gargantuan specimen for it to work. Sure there are obstacles like getting him out on the ice but he can be dragged by the other players I'd imagine. Surely being unbeatable is worth the minor hassle of dragging the goalies to and from the goal?

At first thought I was thinking the guy would have to be 6 ft wide. But if he's about six feet tall, I guess he can lay down and only need to be 4 feet wide with pads to cover the height. Not sure how heavy one would have to be in order to be that wide. Provided one was of size to do that, I guess the only thing stopping a team would be health issues or any rules on weight limits.

Only problem I can see is getting a guy that big with a high enough pain threshold to be constantly hit with pucks over and over again. Imma email the NHL and see if its possible.

I don't think pain would be an issue. Those pads are pretty good. He won't feel much. Instead of a Gatorade bottle on top of the net he can have burritos or a tube of cookie dough he squeezes into his mouth after a few shots on goal.

I've got my new Jag swag on today.  Finally broke down and got my first polo with the current logo.  Plus, it has moisture-wicking technology.  I'm not sure what that means, I just like saying moisture-wicking technology.

Unless he's paying for your car, he probably doesn't care that much! Lol

Still, 19 more shifts (over the next month), followed by 4 1/2 weeks off.. which includes 2 Jags games.. 1 there, and one here in England :teehee:

4 1/2 weeks off?!?! Like consecutive weeks????
