Overanalyzing the Soft Spot

As much as yall like the play call I disagree with it. If it was the regular season I think Gus would call a timeout

After the first play, I think it's very possible he'd do just that when he saw them line up quick to do it again.

Quote:When you look back on the play they did have a corner on every receiver and Jamie Collins maybe the best coverage LB on the TE man to man .  They werent putting LBs out there covering the WR's.  No doubt it was a risky call and could of worked but Butler made a great play

I am of the mindset that if your WRs are singled up it is a mismatch.  The route should get them open.  Wrs were 1on1 on the outside that is a mismatch, the defense had the numbers advantage in the box.

Go Jags!
*To stay up for atleast 2 years 3/6/17
2016 draft players I think will be good
  • On the Fournette train, will be best back of his class 3/6/17
  • Lattimore please,  Lockdowns on both sides would be nice
  • Engram at TE and the MJD clone Samaje Perine

could be a miss match depending on who the corner and wr are. As most thought it was to target Malcolm Butler. Turns out he is a pretty good player

thats the part of play we didn't know at the time.  A year plus later we know Malcolm Butler is a damn good corner.  At the time he was some guy 4th on the depth chart who had hardly played all game.

exactly, they thought it was a miss match but it actually wasnt. Bill must of seen something from him during the seasons to have him out there on that play and it showed
